Jim Caviezel to play Superman?

I haven't seen this guy in anything. Is he big enough to be Superman? One of the main reasons I couldn't take "Lois & Clark" was that Dean Cain was a twerp and nowhere near as imposing as Superman. Reeves was fine, and Welling is ok as Superboy, but how "jacked" is this guy?
It's hard to take "jacked" actors seriously. Look how many of us in the D&D community criticized Vin Diesel's acting skill.

Oh, and no disrespect to Mr. Reeves, he's not that "jacked." He just looked decent in [pre-spandex?] tights. It's his face and chin that carried his image throughout the movie with a then-average acting skill (albeit overshadowed by a true actor, Gene Hackman, who played Lex Luthor).

I have no idea what "jacked" means. Guess I'm not up on the latest slang.

Anyway, this whole thing with Millar and Harry Knowles is getting beyond ridiculous. The two of them combined have the credibility of Baghdad Bob. I just wish they'd cast the movie, already, so we can get on to what's REALLY important. B****ing about the script and complaing about any changes they make to Superman's costume or back-story. :p

As for Gene Hackman, he's normally a great actor, but I've always found his Lex Luthor to be abominable. Hell, I thought those movies in general were pretty terrible. Only the first and second are worthwhile viewing, and even THEN, I still roll my eyes when we get to Lois' mental soliloquoy, or Superman going back in time to save Lois. Hopefully THIS time they'll get Superman right, because if they don't, then it'll probably be another TWENTY YEARS before someone tries making another Superman movie.

Just a quick note: Superman managed to rewind time to save Lois because _that's the stuff he was doing in the comics at the time!_ It was the height of the "Superman pushes planets out of the way" era.

Jim Caviezel as Superman? I saw him more as Batman (specially since his performance as the Count of Monte Cristo... that's just a nobleman moonlighting as Bruce Wayne, y'know? :) )

Jacked was just a term I threw in there. I just mean not a 5'10" guy who is a buck seventy. Like I said I've never seen this guy in a movie so I don't know how tall he is.

Gee, don't hold back. Let your hatred for Christopher Reeve as Superman flood out.

I said nothing about Christopher Reeve, who I DID think was good. I mentioned Gene Hackman, the time-travelling bit, Lois' soliloquoy, and the last two sequels, but at NO point did I mention Reeve. So WHERE do you get that whole Christopher Reeve thing? But come on, making the Earth spin backwards on its axis and thus reversing the flow of time? You can't honestly tell me that that made any sense in any way, shape, or form.

BTW: Next time you start have delusions about things that aren't there, if it's the Roswell Aliens, the Yeti, or Elvis, then tell them that I said "Hi", alright?

Point taken. But still, pulling the S off his chest and turning it into a huge plastic tarp to cover his enemies with, or teleporting around like Nightcrawler, but without the bamf, etc, were those in the comics? I read Superman Post-Crisis, so I don't know about that. Though I did know about the juggling planets bit.

Have you seen the JLA Movie poster that Alex Ross did? It was for a Wizard article so it wasn't real by any means but it was so cool! It listed Tom Welling as Superman & Vin Desiel as Despero. That may be one role I could stomach him in.
No, I didn't see it. Somebody please post a link.
