July Editorial Calendar or Why do they teasing me so.

From how the RPGA Character Creation Guide was updated recently, I expect that the PH3 early-release material will be exclusively in the character builder, rather than having a pdf or other document containing the material, or perhaps coming with a web-article with a brief overview of the class - but as a great deal of the necessary information gets into the character builder, WotC may feel that this is the best way to release the new rules.

Well, if the last few months of Dungeon have been an indication, I'm finding it harder to decide to buy a years worth prior to the price increase. I feel like the early magazines were so much more useful - lots of various adventures and articles I feel like almost any game could use... I really liked those Ecology articles.

Yeah, they're throwing me a bone with the PHB3 stuff... though thinking about it I haven't really played any preview/early release classes. Sure they're fun to look at, but I waited on all the PHB2 stuff/Artificer until I had the full set of options. Will I get any more use out of the previews than I would just hearing them discussed a bit?

I really was hoping WotC would really wow me this month, showing a good faith commitment that 6 months down the road I wont feel ripped off. We'll see how it goes when I stew a bit on this... but I wonder if I'm the only one who feels that way.

I think it may very well be a simultaneous PDF and CB release.

Well, let's talk turkey and take a look at the Dragon articles (really, the only thing missing from the calendar, and thus Dragon, are the "Design & Development" articles):

Tu'narath - So far, I've really enjoyed 4e's planar material and I hope this examination of the githyanki capital really hits the mark. I'm going to assume that it will somewhat follow the format of the earlier Hestavar article; a 10-14 page backdrop with a bunch of new monsters and a few player options. Maybe we'll see some githyanki racial feats, just in case their is a PHB3 preview in the near future (I say its a long shot though).

Class Acts - Not much to go off of. Though I'll probably be wrong, I think that we may see something either related to Eberron or Divine Power.

Familiars of Eberron - I love the 4e familiar system, so for me, more familiars will always be welcome. However, I wonder what they'll use? Aberrant symbiotes? More homunculi?

Bestiary: Legendary Evils - In another thread I speculated that this article will be related to the new Legendary Evils minis, similar to the earlier "Dangers of the Demonweb" article. However, I reviewed all the spoilers concerning the new set and didn't see too many new monsters; while variants are nice, I would rather see new types of monsters. Hopefully, the scarecrow stalker will make the cut, as its always been one of my favorite monsters since the 1e Fiend Folio.

Explore: Airspur - OK, while I know why WotC is heavily covering the newest regions of Faerun and Returned Abeir, I do wish they would release some articles covering other, more traditional areas of the Realms (or more general interest articles on organizations, the cosmology, or the pantheon). I really haven't been disappointed in the DDI FR content (the recent Gontal article is probably the overall weakest), so this exploration of the capital of Akanul should at least prove interesting.

Disciples of Vengeance - Yeah I got nothing. Its probably primarily a player's article, I'm going to go with something related to the divine power source.
