Jump ?

Can I move my full move and then jump, using the athletics skill? The description says I must move 2 squares, so I was just wondering.

The squares you jump count against your movement speed, if you jump farther than your remaining movement, you fall prone unless you are using a double move to jump.

Example: You have a speed of 6. You can move 2 squares, jump 3 squares (with an Athletics roll of 15+), and still 1 square of movement left.

The Jump power (wizard Utility) lets you jump as a Move action. We had some debate on that - supposedly, because this is not moving, but a move action, the Wizard jump is not a part of normal movement, but only a single jump? Makes it seem a little lackluster.

Of course, you can let someone else jump instead of you, which could be more fun.

That has been errata'd

Replace the Effect line with the following:

Effect: The target makes an Athletics check as a free action to jump with a +10 power bonus. The target can move as many squares as the check allows and is considered to have a running start.

Jump lets the Wizard make a single jump check per encounter without sucking so badly (the +10 corresponds to a trained Athletics skill and a 20 STR, neither of which the Wizard is likely to have).

Of course, if cast at the party Fighter, then it could enable him to make a crucial jump normally reserved for characters about one tier higher.

Whether this is lackluster or not I have no opinion. Don't take it if you don't like it... :)
