[June] What are you playing?

System: a cross of Call of Cthulhu d20 rules with the Polyhedron Shadow Chasers stuff, with some homebrew things thrown in. Not really liking it that well; I tend not to like homebrewed stuff since generally that means that only the GM knows how things work and that seems to be borne out here.

Character: Xane ('Zane') McMurdo. It was suggested that about the only thing I haven't played in some time was either a private investigator or a scumbag. So I chose scumbag. Xane's a wealthy guy, not even 25, who makes his living through post-producing and distributing bootleg CD's, DVDs and underground media, with a little drug dealing on the side. He's pulling down close to $200,000.00 a year; it would be a lot more than that but he 'tries to keep his hands clean'; he facilitates deals, is the ultimate middle-man. He knows where to find people that have what you need, never mind what (or who) it is. He's deep in the Mexican and Chinese bootleg markets (The Mexican bootleg music market has almost totally destroyed the legitimate channels of distribution in that country . Xane's the one selling them CD towers and untraceable network connections :) ).

Xane is, primarily, a liar. He lies to everyone, even himself (most especially himself, actually). Coming into contact with the supernatural only confirmed what Xane had always suspected: that the world itself was a lie. Now he's finding out what truth is, and it hasn't been a nice ride.

Probably the first time I've played a guy that's a borderline psychopath (he has a sense of right and wrong, but he's able to justify things so totally in his mind that it really makes no difference). But, he's dead now; died his final death last session after stepping into a wrong angle and coming out five hours later looking like hamburger.

Not really sure what I'm going to do. The game has quickly evolved from the promised 'magic in the modern world' game to 'Call of Cthulhu' which, while I do love that game, wasn't what I wanted to play this time around. Not at all. So.. I might talk to the GM today or tomorrow, but it doesn't look like I'll be going back, which will probably mean a more-or-less permanent severing with the only group I play with now. :(

I have a human female rog1/Sorc6/MindBender2 named Annelise. She is basically dating the second most powerful man in the largest city, so she has access to power and money. She took two servants with her to the last city we journeyed to.

It's a homebrew D&D game. It was a hugely political game, and far more complicated than I could ever explain here. It's coming to an end, and I'll start DM'ing in a month or so.

Currently playing Voadam a 12th level ranger, monk, wizard, harper mage variant, loremaster (originally a 2ed character converted to 3e after being energy drained down to the 7th level party level by a swarm of wights and spectres). Another PC calls him the swiss army knife of classes.

We just finished the Banewarrens in a post apocalyptic Greyhawk setting and started a new Groundhog day scenario involving about five different plots we need to defeat in one day where every hour's NPC events are pre-mapped out by the DM. Of course it would happen while my magic sword is being enchantment upgraded by an NPC and we have blown about half the party's resources in overcoming the first plot at 10 AM on the first repeated day.

It is a lot of fun.

What are you playing right now? What's the name/race/class/level of your character and what campaign world/system are you using? How is it going?
I'm playing in three campaigns these days. I DM one and play in the others.

In a long-running (about a year and a half) Greyhawk campaign I play Reverend Jon Falco, a human Cleric 6/Radiant Servant of Pelor 6 from Sunndi. The campaign is fun, but all the plot twists can get frustrating occasionally as we're trying to figure out what to DO. Simple story, complicated plot. I've just started a story hour about the game, link is in my sig.

I also play in a bi-weekly homebrew game that's been going for about six months. The campaign world is unique in that humans are far from the dominant race - dwarves, hafllings and orcs outnumber them significantly. Humanity is just recovering from a
"Noah's ark" period, the thousand or so survivors of human civilization literally washed ashore only a few short years ago. In this campaign I play Yrgach, gothi of a tribe of non-evil orcs. He's a Barbarian 1/Druid 6. Very interesting and fun character.

The campaign I run is a homebrew mishmash based on medieval Germany and France, with some Ravenloft and Al Quadim thrown in for good measure. The players seem to enjoy it.

[EDIT: Yay! I figured out how to upload my character sheets to the net! Enjoy! :) )

15the level Drow Fighter/Templar in a homebrew campaign

3rd level dwarf fighter in same campaign

fixing to start a 3rd level archer in FR.

Running only, a nigh-epic level game (the party ranges from 13th to 19th level, with a second character reaching 19th level after last night). They're certainly facing some tough stuff lately- last night's game they fought a barb 15/warrior of darkness (BoVD) 5 and his six barb 10/rog 5 bodyguards, all at once.

Home campaign:Henry the bowman MC ranger 5, Deepwood Sniper 7, Fighter 4

LG: Sigut Frost, dwarf fighter 7
Aramil Nailor elf fighter 2

LJ: Chim, Saru fighter 6

Serial Pulp Adventures (local 'living campaign' non-rpga, based on Pulp d20 from Polyhedron): Alvin Fog, soldier 1/investigator 2

buzzard

I play an elven monk with a Hyper-Quickened template in Nine Hands' Elves of Evermeet campaign. I missed the last session, so I'm not sure where we are or what we're doing, but I'm sure we'll need to fix it later.

I also play a priest of Bane in his Zhentarim game, which has been a blast so far. It won't be long before we create some giant catastrophe for ourselves. Seems to be our MO. :)

I also DM a pair of homebrew PBeM games that are currently suffering from a lack of attention on my part. Fortunately both are long running campaigns with tolerant players, so they've forgiven my slacking.

Speaking of which, I'm off to post in games...

PS

Currently in a FR game, I'm playing Ivellios Moonwhisper, an elven rapier-weilding ftr 2/rog 1. Basic vanilla swashbuckler, which was still fun until two other players decided to be pirates. -_-;;;;

In the same campaign we're also playing the group's adversaries, and I play the leader-type, a 4th level goblin cleric of Velsharoon (the name escapes me at the moment, but I haven't had a chance to flesh him out much. (The rest of the group consists of a half-drow sorcerer, a great sword weilding Orc barbarian, and a goblin rogue.))

In the game I run (a homebrew world that I'll soon be dropping once we acquire some new players- the game has a heavy fiendish theme, and i don't want to frighten them off) the characters are a human samurai, an elven (formerly winged) sorcerer named Nym (and yes, I do wish he were playing a rat-person), a human sorcerer named Miros, an elven bounty hunter named Aust, and an elven ranger named Astride.

Soon we'll be running a magicless D&D game, so I certainly hope we see at least one mad scientist (but knowing my players, we won't see such a thing. :-( I guess I need to keep that arch-type for the villains :D )

Actually, one player did say he'd like to play a monk whose goal is to find a dragon (mystical creatures, reported to exist in the taintless forest- which one can, of course, only get to by passing through the obsidian mountains- which, of course, few have ever claimed to do.) and drink it's blood (due to rumors of masquitos, bats, and various carnivores were discovered with amazing power), so I know what ONE of them is playing.
