Jurassic Park RPG?

There is a new trailer for the most recent Jurassic park film.
The movie looks pretty dumb as a movie, but actually pretty good as an adventure.

I wonder if there has ever been a real attempt to license JP and it just hasn't happened. I know there are a few fan games out there. I think i would be inclined to use Savage Worlds if I could find a really good dino bestiary.

has anyone played a JP adventure or campaign? What system did you use? Would you buy or back an official JP TTRPG?

Back in the 90s our GM ran us on a Shadowrun adventure that was basically JP. Not a great system for it as Dhadowrun already has plenty of critters far worse than dinos so they lose there impact.

That GM would usually run his adventures based on the last movie he watched. One time midway through DL1 it turned into Aliens.

If this was a Free League cinematic one shot kind of thing, id jump at it. If its an attempt to make a traditional do anything in the JP world and have long campaigns kind of thing, id nope right out.

There is Predation by Monte Cook Games for the Cypher System. But it's less Jurassic Part and more about time travelers from the future who are stuck in the Cretaceous Period. So a little closer to Dino Riders.

I believe there's an addon for Deathmatch Island that covers a form of Jurassic Park scenario. My memory says it was called "Deathmatch Island: Project Resurrection".

I have the three books released for the Primeval RPG (A dinosaur based time travel-ish British show from the mid-00's) and that would work well for a Jurassic Universe RPG. I've often considered doing so myself.

Yes. Yes it is.

Its mechanics for resolving scenes are a bit non-traditional, but it runs pretty well once people understand it.

Given the typical results of an encounter with an Alien, I'd expect similar results from a dinosaur encounter, and would think that Alien(s) games would handle Jurassic Park well.
