I sprung some bugbear pirates on my group along with a Dirgesinger, a Necropolitan wizard, a brain in a jar, and a mummified albatros (all these from Libris Mortis).
Quite a fun encounter, though the stand-out for entertainment was without a doubt the totally inneffectual mummified albatross. I used the mummified template on stats for a raven. For 10 of the 14 rounds of the encounter the albatross and the party's gnome ranger had a mutual admiration society going where neither one could hit the other.
