For those who have the books, did you guys notice the following?

Spiked gauntlets 1d6+str (azer raider, pg. MM22)--based on what I can guess they probably are military weapons with a +2 proficiency... These may help those wanting to go "unarmed" until we get unarmed powers in a future splatbook...

Also, Githzerai... Their basic unarmed strike is 1d8+str (at will power makes it 2d8+str)!!! Where the heck did that come from... No hand to hand with these guys...

Githzerai are a monster, not a PC race, right? The answer is "they were just given it" kind of like how the halfling slinger has Stone Rain and regular halfling PCs don't get that.

What does stone rain do?

The Githzerai have longheld traditions in hand to hand combat, and their race has many monks. I think this is a microchasm of things to come in terms of the monk class.
