I think the cookies that would interest an illithid are girl scout cookies ("made with real girl scouts", as Wednesday Adams would say). And maybe cookie monsters, but it's unsure they have brains.
Ermmm, the foi was deliberate - he was eating a cleric. (It and the hermit cookie were linked.) But I wish I'd thought of the Girl Scout cookies!
The first time I remember making a spinalghetti joke was while boning a fish, so, yeah it is older than Schlock. (I need to read that again, I stopped reading it a while back for no good reason.)

Well, when in the navy, one test question designed to see what you know about the different types of radiation posited that you had 4 cookies, each corresponding to a type of radiation: alpha, gamma, beta, and neutron. The student was instructed that you could choose to eat one cookie, hold one, put one in your pocket, and throw one away.
The answer is of course, that you should eat the gamma cookie, hold the alpha cookie, put the beta cookie in your pocket, and throw the neutron cookie away.
As to why:
Alpha is the most damaging radiation type, but it cannot penetrate the dead layer of skin. So hold the alpha cookie.
Beta cannot penetrate a layer of cloth, so put that one in your pocket.
Of the two remaining, gamma and neutron both penetrate very well. But neutron radiation is about 10 times more damaging. So you choose to toss the neutron cookie and eat the gamma, cause it's gonna get you anyways.
Based on that, I would give the mind flayer the neutron cookie.

Those Elf Cookies by Keebler. I hear they are made with Elfin Magic.
Elf brains + Elfin magic = One Yummy Cookie.
You can bite their heads off and then give the rest to your subservient lackeys.

Elf = Pointy ear medium sized fairy.

How about feeding the Illithid a 'Lorna Doom', after all, "Lorna Doom's are a very serious cookie" (pun on Lona Doon, in case you're not familiar with 'em)
