Keen bows, crossbows, and slings a possibility?

I'm sure this must have already been discussed, but I've been unable to locate a thread on it. If anyone can reference one for me, please do.

As per the DMG errata, which indicates that, "Only piercing or slashing weapons can be enchanted to be keen.", does this now mean that a ranged weapon can bestow this magical quality on its ammunition (similar to Flaming, Shocking, etc.)?

"Keen" is a melee weapon ability, not a ranged weapon ability, so no keen bow or sling.

Keen does not in any way state that it is limited to melee weapons. It can be placed on the appropriate projectiles as well, just as the Keen Edge spell can. You can have keen arrows, but I agree, you can't have keen bows.

No, but you can place Keen on the ammunition itself, if it's of the appropriate damaging type.
