Recently a gaming shop opened in my small midwestern town. I talked with the owner and he expressed a lack of potential players for 4e, saying heroclix was the popular seller for him.
I have not run a 4e lite campaign and don't want to (I hate not having all the rules and having to house rule important situations) however, I did pre-order keep on the shadowfell, which will have quickstart rules. I'm buying "keep" to see what it's like and if I can steal ideas/encounters/maps from it and just because I'm impatient for 4e. But, I told the shop owner I would use the quickstart rules to run a 4e demo or two at his shop.
I will probably make my own demo out of parts of "keep", it depends on how much time I have I suppose. One big question I have is:
Does anyone know if the pregens from "Keep on the Shadowfell" are different from the pregens that have been floating around enworld for the last few months?
I don't want the players to make thier own characters without the full rules but I would prefer giving them more than 5 choices.
