Keepers of the Vigil of Adenan Stronghand

Memnus

First Post
In the chaos of the early Age of Kings, some center of stability was needed to protect the innocent from the mighty conflicts that yet waged. A sect of priests and paladins, the first Keepers of the Vigil of Adenan Stronghand were mostly loners, travelling the countryside offering their protection and healing where they found it needed. As the world settled into the new routine, the Keepers were instrumental in the formation of Adenan's centralized church. Now based out of the church's massive headquarters in Solinburg, the keepers ride to all lands, still defending the innocent, beacons of hope in their gleaming mail. Individual Keepers patrol highways, keeping them safe from bandits; large trade caravans, especially those travelling through dangerous lands, will often be accompanied by one or more Keepers, asking nothing more than their services than food.

Although the code of the Keepers demands that they do what they are instructed, not all Keepers work directly under the church. It is not unheard of for a Keeper to receive a vision or divine messenger assigning a task; when this is the case, the Keeper need only inform the church of the mission, and he is excused from all other duties until further notice.

The Keeper of the Vigil of Adenan Stronghand is the Thirteen Kingdoms variant of the Hospitaler prestige class, as presented on page 48 of Complete Divine. Except as noted, the class is as written.
