Keith Baker: Have Dice, Will Travel

Iif he swings through Greensboro he could at least help me clean fish tanks. ;)
Someone on another thread mentioned that he wasn't sure he had good odds of winning this contest. My thought is that it's not much of a contest when the "prize" is having to put me up & show me around... if it was a CONTEST, I'd show up at your door, run a game, clean your fish tanks, and turn into a pizza.

I'll be sending you an email soon from New Jersey...
Please do!

You pick my brain, I pick yours... that's only a contest of wills, patience, and imagination. ;) Granted, as I don't fancy 4e and tend to stick to GH, all I have to offer is hag-laden undersea insights game-wise, and the fun of walking about in a forest at midnight with only a flashlight to ward off the deer, raccoons, foxes, and so on reality-wise.

Better be at least 4 pizzas... I have 7 kids. ;)

Oh, I'm not expecting everyone I spend tie with to be fans of 4E or Eberron. Professionally I've worked on Over The Edge, Feng Shui, Ars Magica, and Buffy (though sadly, my Buffy book never saw print). I'm planning to put together an OTE adventure I can run for anyone interested... and I may even be testing something entirely new during my travels.

Heya Keith! Just sent you a message! We'll be waiting for you over here in the (sort of) cloud forests of Baguio, Philippines!

And yeah, I love Buffy. =)

What part of Tennessee are you going to, Keith?
My current invite is, in fact, from Chatanooga! However, bear in mind that the list is places I've RECEIVED invites from (and in some cases, multiple invites from different parts of a state). I'll be plotting out the course of my travels over the next few weeks. So the fact that I've heard from Tennessee doesn't mean I know when I'll be there... just that I know I've got an offer of a place to stay!

Oh wow! Finding gamers here is a real pain in the butt. If nothing else, I'm curious who invited you so that I might glom onto them. :D

But, I will say this, Keith: you are welcome to crash on my couch. The problem for me is transportation (disabled, can't drive). So it's either getting my father to do the chauffeuring, or the individual that invited you must supply the wheels.

... Of course, I woudl hope that you would come here before I leave to go somewhere for graduate school. (Although you might be visiting where I get accepted, so who knows!)

The guy who invited you... was it Edyminion?

Well, I know for a fact you couldn't stay at my place (my girlfriend would, um, kill me), but I know of two Victoria gamers that may be interested. I'll pass word on... and then see if I can sneak into the game!

Don't really know if Victoria is really on your list, though... it being only an hour or so away by ferry from Seattle...

Yes... at the moment, Washington state is a hard sell, as I've got six interesting invites already and I'm going to have to figure out a way to choose between them somehow. I may at least try to have a "Come hang out with Keith" event somewhere in Seattle, just to have a chance to meet as many people as possible.

Likewise, I've probably got all the invites I can handle in Kentucky, Ohio, and Louisiana... and looking to specific cities, Chicago (six!), Boston, and Boise. Now, feel free to drop me a know if you're in these areas and would like to meet; if there's enough people, I'll probably do a "I'll be hanging out at the Runny Nose on Friday" thing. I've just got more overnight stay options on hand in these places than I can handle.

Of course, if you feel that you are the world's most intriguing gamer - "I'm a rocket scientist who loves old school Star Frontiers" or "I'm five years old and was born with a d20 in my hand", hey, you might top my current invites. Just bear in mind that things are getting crowded in some states.

With that said, I'm still looking for hosts in the following states: Alaska, Delaware, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, and Vermont. France is a notable blank spot on my European travels. And I'm always interested in adding more stops in Asia. If you're in any of these places and feel like hosting a wandering DM for a night or three, let me know!
