I don't grok these paths.
The only thing I can make of out them is...
I bet they weren't written by the same guy.
I bet the guys who wrote them never spoke or met each other

On the other side is the swordsman who has dedicated himself to the sword.

Yes both are very similar but then again so are the Eladrin and Elf yet the shmucks but them both in the same book as well.

Go figure

You... seem to have not read the book then. Very different mechanics for both those Paragon Paths.
