Kickass ways to use psionics

Claws of the Vampire are way better, even without a grafted weapon. With an Amulet of Mighty Fists and Bracers of Striking with some cool ability they rock

If you take a look at the newer Mind's Eye powers, you'll find Metaphysical Body. Give all of your natural attacks enhancement bonuses without needing to use an item. ;)

In combination with Improved Biofeedback, my current character (Ran1/PsW10) is the only partymember that has survived the campaign, with 11 deaths in 13 adventures so far.

Cool.

He has only gone down in combat ONCE, and that was after grappling a huge red dragon (he has Improved Grapple from OA), the DM rolled a 2, I rolled a 20. After that the dragon was so pissed, he used all of his attacks for two rounds on me, and 150+ damage/round was a little to much

You mean you weren't using a Vigor-chain power (errata'd, and there's one for every level now) or Inertial Barrier? (Heh)

I'm not sure about maximize or fortify the HP of a AC, even if it did work generaly just summoning the higher level AC would net you close to as many HP, and enough other stuff not to amke it worth it.

One: it does work, AFAIK, cuz I think Piratecat did it when the Trillith killed two of his players with maximized constructs. Since they were betatesting the psionics rules at the time I'm guessing that's how it works. Besides, it makes sense.

You can't do that anymore. You can always use the Tough-line selection max out hp (and the Buff selections too) - see the Constructor PrC and the Advanced Construction/Ecto Manipulation feats.

Dirty Trick

In the campaign I am presently a PC in I am playing a Psychic Warrior and I know there are a number of fun things.

My char was level four when our party (me, rogue, sor [who tends to go unconsious A LOT] and 2 rangers with bows) came a cross a middle level mage (6th to 8th, not sure) with enough scrolls and wands to blow us to kingdom-come. Well, I remembered I had Mind Whip (though any "stunning" psionic attack mode would work) and I had first initiative. Made the check and boom, one stunned zhent. By my go next round he was dead and we had a load of fireballs and lightning bolts.

Of course, this only worked because no one was surprised, but still, just the chance of it is well worth having a psion or psy-war.

Oh yeah, our DM deswelled our magic-ballooned heads by making it so we would blow the magic quick. You'd be amazed how many orcs can be packed into a cave. Our sorcerer and rogue went through over a hundred just to burn off the magic, of course, it was better than taking on all the orcs in melee.

Nope, I only have the lvl 1 power, and not enough feat (are there ever enough ?) to take the chain feat. Only have one 4th lvl power, which is polymorph self.

I did see the metaphysical body powers but are waiting until I can get the 5th level power. Don't want to "waste" a chain feat on that.

I'm not sure it DOES work this way. There were a couple of mistakes in that fight, mostly because of the playtest nature of the rules. For instance, the prohibition against using metapsionics on high level powers hadn't been added yet. :)

Please don't do that to me. I know you guys were playtesting, but when you first started posting the story hour in Eversink, a friend of mine pointed me to these boards (well, the boards three sites ago), using your story as a shining example of how D&D should be run.
That makes you infallible. Like the Pope. A fuzzy, sadistic, one-eyed Pope with a parrot. Every adventure I see now gets evaluated based on "How would the Defenders of Daybreak, Abernathy's Company, and/or Wulf Ratbane deal with this?" That pretty much covers all the bases.

And frankly, when it comes to game balance, I trust the opinions of experienced DMs over more "official" sources like the Sage.

Mind Blast can be very powerfull too.

I once played a paladin/telepath lvl about 4/8. With his cha boosted to 24 or something like that those blasts were deadly. I remember rolling an 18 in one encounter where I was second in initiative, all enemies in a corridor had to roll a will save vs 29. They ALL FAILED. All enemies were stunned for 3d4 rounds .... a very difficult combat became an easy victory.

Especially with the now available feats where those combat modes can be cheaper in power points and boosted in DC, it's worth it.

At that time, those feats didn't exist and we didn't know about the metapsionic cap.

Assume a Dex of 34. Base of 43 PP from Psion, 80 from Metamind. 15 from Inner Str. 124 from ability. 5 from Power Psicrystal, 100 from Dull Grey Ioun Stones (:D ), 17 from some dude's Crystal Capacitor. Total of 384 PP.

pretty sure the 100 ioun stones things doesnt work the way you want it too; check PsiHB page 38 The Bottleneck . the way i interpret this, you would have 100 uses of first level powers...not necessarily too useful. though there is room for interpretation on what a "storage device" is. i think for balance reasons, anything not-the-psion would be considered a storage device, including the dull gray ioun stones.

might still be usefull for Psionic Shot, except for the fact that you'd have a cloud of ioun stones around you, possibly blocking vision
