What the heck does the D&D movie have to do with it? This is Kickstarter. They're doing millions of dollars of business on non-D&D products.

Why this thing with telling people to go search out a thing that you already know?

Because, whatever you saw, I don't see it.

Is that what you mean? They got a new director of games because, as middlemen without any ownership or stake in such movies, they need different management of games?
