D&D 4E Killing Time Before 4e Comes Out

Just a suggestion...why don't you try something besides D&D. That way you can see 4e from the perspective of game design throughout the entire hobby, instead of WotC/TSR game design.
Exactly. I'm starting wfrp game soon, which will last until may.

Nah - I'm halfway through Age of Worms, and it looks like we'll conveniently wrap it up just in time for 4E.

Never really considered anything but DnD. Tried a various of other games over the years, but none stuck more than a few sessions. I guess that DnD rules, no matter what version, always appealed to me.

Atm I am running some homebrew, with a plotline inspired by Eyes of the Lich Queen, but I figure we should be done by christmas, leaving ample time for another arc of the campaign before I kill them all and start a new one with 4e.

Although, depending on level and what the players want, we might convert and continue. Only time will tell.

Are you bored? How are you going to kill time before 4E comes out?

Nope. Busy killing PCs until 4e comes out. :)

(Yes, we had another TPK last night. The Wizard's dice turned sour just as they ran into a band of drow.)

With 4e on the horizon I'm more interested in Indy games like Universalis than ever. I'm even thinking of running such a game on the boards. I'm excited for 4e but I know it's still D&D, and that's good for 4e but I need some collective-story fix sometimes.

After about three years running a 3E Forgotten Realms campaign I discussed a change of pace with my group as passion was pretty obviously dwindling. The call for a 1E game in a low-magic setting was unanimous. The 1E game will likely extend past the release of 4E unless there are compelling reasons to move to 4E.

I've lost all interest in 3.5, as I'm too excited by the prospect of 4E.

So what you're telling me is that when 4e comes out you'll and your players will be converting old characters and continuing your story hour? ;)
