King Kubrick: Ranking Stanley's Best Films

It's been over 45 years...do we really need to worry about spoilers at this point?
In regards to spoilers, I always think of this

of the ones I've seen

1.The Shining
2. Doctor Strangelove
3. Clockwork Orange
Worst. 2001 A Space Odyssey

Not only is 2001 the worst Kubrick movie I've seen, I'd say that it's the third worst movie of any kind that I've ever seen in my life (better than Tommy (they butchered that album in the film; and how did they get all those stars to all uniformly perform so badly?) and L'Illusionniste, but worse than Manos: The Hands of Fate)

I haven't seen every Kubrick movie, but Eyes Wide Shut is my least favorite. When I saw it, I just thought to myself, "What the $#%% did I just watch?" I like 2001, but my wife is still angry I "made" her watch it with me back around 1999 as she found it to be one of the most boring in the world.
I used to think that 2001 was intended to be watched while completely high on weed but then they legalized it in the state I vacation in and having tried it I don't think it would help.

Why would you exclude the final, perfect evolution of the form? And Sam Neill’s crowning performance! It goes:

2001 - > Dark Star - > Alien -> Event Horizon

I would argue that line goes

2001 > Solaris > Dark Star

With Galaxy of Terror and Hellraiser: Bloodlines hanging out a couple rungs below, wallowing in their own low-budget substitute for hell.
