Kiss of the Vampire = Energy Draining defense ?

If I have the spell Kiss of the Vampire cast on me (Magic of Faerun) am I immune to energy draining attacks of Undead ? The spell describes that the spellcaster takes damage from healing spells and gets cured by inflict spells for example.

Admittedly, I do not know the spell. However, if the spell grants all undead traits then yes, you would be immune to energy draining. If the spell only grants the ability to take damage from Healing spells and healing from Inflict spells, then no, you would not be immune to energy drain.

It doesn't grant all undead traits, but it does say this...

"You are treated as if you were undead for the purpose of all spells and effects."

"effects" meaning spell effects, then? More to the point, does the spell protect vs. Energy Drain?

AFAIK, the term "spells and effects" covers all the bases, such as spells, spell-like abilities, supernatural abilities, etc. If the spell only protected against spells, it would make sense to just say "spells" and leave it at that.

I'd say definately, as Energy Drain is an effect. However, "protect" is a little misleading, since you're actually treated as undead, meaning Energy Drain would actually be beneficial to you.

I'm cool with that, just looking for a clarification.

I thought undead were immune to Energy Drain.

I was thinking of the Su ability.

Odd that under the undead traits section in the MM it says they are immune to energy drain, yet it explicitly states they are bolstered by the spell. Perhaps by "immune" they mean immune to the negative effects?

I was thinking more of the energy attack not the spell...

The attack itself I doubt bolsters undead... otherwise undead would be touching one another boosting themselves ! :)

Polymorph Other can't affect undead... so the spell would make me immune too ?
