This poll is rather outdated. No Themes, Hybrid Classes, Forgotten Realms-style Backgrounds or Paragon Paths? Especially since Themes have been mentioned by Monte Cook recently concerning the Fifth Edition.
Start a new poll! Or if you provide the list of poll options I'll set it up for you. :)

For some that say themes are the answer...I like kits but so far I'm not excited by the vision that is being portrayed of themes.

Personally I'd like to see base classes laid out for beginners:

Fighter
Cleric
Wizard
Rogue

At the end of each class section you would get an example or two of how to create another type of fighter (say a knight or a barbarian) or another type of rogue (say a thief or a pirate) by selecting certain feats or abilities. These would be just suggestions but in the end you can go to the feats section and choose whatever you want as you level up.
