Anthropomorphic Fusion Time!

Instead on simply doing a anthro raccoon, I decided I do a fusion of a raccoon with a monkey. This creature pays hommage to the Phanatons of the Mystara campaign setting.

Phanatons are an odd, reclusive, intelligent race of bipedal anthropomorphs that look like a cross between a raccoon and a monkey. They are close to nature and live exclusively in the forests of Southern Harqual.

A phanaton has a 4-foot prehensile tail and a membrane of skin stretching from its arm to its leg. These membranes can be stretched out allowing the phanaton to glide from tree to tree.
A phanaton’s fur is colored like that of a raccoon, with a dark mask over the eyes, gray-brown fur, and a ringed tail. There eyes range from bright green to a tawny yellow.

Phanatons are slightly smaller than halflings in height and weight.
These forest-dwellers speak Elven, Sylvan and their own language that consists of hoots, chatters, and clicks.

Combat
Phanatons attack opponents from the trees of their forest homes using their surprise ability to great effect. They often use small rocks or slings and halfspears when fighting from a distance. They use almost any sort of natural occurring melee weapon (made of wood or stone) when pressed into combat. Despite their small size and chaotic nature, phanatons fight bravely when cornered.

Scent (Ex): A phanaton can detect approaching enemies, sniff out hidden foes, and track by sense of smell. Range is 30 ft. If upwind, the range increases to 60 ft.; if downwind, it drops to 15 ft.

Surprise (Su): Phanatons are never surprised when encountered in a forest setting and surprise opponents 50% of the time. Phanaton rogues often use this ability in order to launch deadly sneak attacks.

Saves: +2 bonus to all saves.

Skills: Phanatons use their Dexterity modifier for Climb checks, receive a +8 racial bonus to Balance and Move Silently checks, and +2 racial bonus to Sleight of Hand checks. *+2 competence bonus on Survival checks to avoid becoming lost in the forest.

Phanaton Characters
Phanatons favor the rogue class. Phanaton clerics choose any two of the following domains: Animal, Chaos, Good, Plant, and Trickery.

You are in luck, I happen to have the 3E stats for the vulture, converted from 2nd. I will post them shortly.

Very nice anthropomorphs. One question though. What is a Nagpa?
 



I had a friend that, in act 5 of DiabloII, had a barbarian hireling named Bill...

On the other hand...I'm posting you a templated critter...something that should make the party almost soil their armor!

As a young giant, Jhargathu lived in Acheron and served *fill in with favorite devilish power* well. He almost died when he defended the portal to the Prime Material known as the Burning Portal, but he was successful. His lord, *there it is again*, rewarded him by forging his body in the fires of the pit of Dromfor, fires so hot that only one with the fire subtype would survive. What crawled out was something much more than a humble fire giant, and he has devoted himself utterly to his job as defender of the portal, since then...

Fill in the blanks. I didn't have time or energy ta explain alla specials, or work out his skills (120 pts as an outsider!). I hope ya like him, in all his twisted glory! :D
 


I figured out his mount, but it didn't fall within the parameters of the thread...it's a fiendish fire element dire elephant... :eek:
