I actually like the idea that they pollinate a special plant and they just happen to have a bunch of the pollen on them, which they can shake off. The players won't necessarily know all this ("the bee shakes it's tush at you and suddenly you are surrounded by sparkling motes") but if they figure it out, finding the plant and harvesting the pollen or other parts becomes a new adventure.

Another one inspired by the Grandiloquent Word of the Day.

TRAGELAPH
Half-goat, half-deer, this beast has a strange unworldly quality about it.
AC 13, HP 14, ATK 2 rend +3 (1d8), MV near, S +3, D +3, C +1, I -3, W +1, Ch -2, AL N, LV 3
Imaginary. Half damage from all attacks. Takes full damage from illusions.
Awesome word and idea. Feels like it could use some sort of special ability to make it a little more interesting though, maybe? How about:

Double-Take: A subtle aura of wrongness or incongruousness surrounds the tragelaph, imposing disadvantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and spellcasting checks made against it during the first round it is engaged with.

Or...not. Just my 2 coppers.

I worry that gets it too close to just being a displacer beast. But yeah, I think it's worth still noodling on the idea, especially since illusions play so little part in Shadowdark at the moment.

I'm also farting around with random NPC generation, which I'll probably apply to actual monsters at some point.
