Knights of Badassdom

TarionzCousin

Second Most Angelic Devil Ever
In this humorous fantasy adventure from IndieVest Pictures, Joe (Ryan Kwanten) is a heavy metal rocker who's just gone through a painful breakup with his girlfriend, Beth (Margarita Levieva). His concerned roommates (Steve Zahn, Peter Dinklage) kidnap him to their LARP (Live Action Role Playing) gathering, where he enters a realm of fantasy escapism in which pretend knights, elves, and barbarians clash with foam weaponry on a mock battlefield.

When Joe's "sorcerer" roommate (Zahn) inadvertently summons a deadly succubus that takes Beth's seductive form, bloody reality crashes down upon their fantasy world. Once LARPers start to turn up dead, the make-believe wizards and warriors must become the real life heroes they have been pretending to be in order to conquer the evil that has been unleashed.

I soooooo want to see this. I hadn't heard of this before but it sounds funny as hell.

Ryan Kwantan sounds perfect for this role.

Granted, relatively big names and seriously good actors aren't a guarantee that this won't suck, but there's some pretty good names in there.

Ryan Kwantan (Jason from True Blood)
Steve Zahn (an underappreciated comic genius)
Summer Glau (River from Firefly/Serenity)
Danny Pudi (this kid is funny!)
Joshua Malina (Sports Night, The West Wing - this guy can do funny and serious equally well - a seriously good actor)

and of course Peter Dinklage! ('nough said)

This could be a rare commedy gem...

It's on!!!

Umbran

El Mahdi
Wait... are you suggesting that Umbran and El Mahdi are actually the subjects of this film? Which one is portrayed by Peter Dinklage, and which one is portrayed by Summer Glau? Or are they both just CGIed in, like those big 6-legged lizards on the Star Wars re-release?

Inquiring minds want-- nay, need-- to know.

If I had to choose between being Summer Glau or Peter Dinklage...I think my brain would go into meltdown.;)

But I think mine and Umbran's posts are a perfect example of the Schroedinger's Cat Paradox...until the movie is observed, it's both awesome and stinks.:p

Nobody, and I mean nobody, would ever mistake me for Summer Glau.

I would agree with that statement. Also, being a fan of some movies like "Sharktopus", I accept that Awesomness and Odiferousness are not mutually exclusive. There is such a thing as a good bad movie.

This is exact same argument my friend and I have over Cowboys & Aliens. I'm firmly in the "This cannot be anything but 100% canned awesomesauce" camp. He's decidely...not.

He's wrong. But he's so stubborn that he won't concede that point until the movie is finally released.

the first trailer was released at Comicon, looks pretty, well, Badass
