D&D 5E knocking a flyer prone

Hi folks,
In 5e, what happens when you knock a flyer prone? I thought they fell, but I can't find anything, so I'm wondering if that's just my faulty memory or recollection of a previous edition.

I remember somewhere being stated that flyers do fall from skies if knocked. However creatures with magical flying or ability to hover are immune to this effect.

Someone csn probably point out the phb page.

FLYING MOVEMENT pg 191 phb
Flying creatures enjoy many benefits of mobility, but they must also deal with the danger of falling. If a flying creature is knocked prone, has its speed reduced to 0, or is otherwise deprived of the ability to move, the creature falls, unless it has the ability to hover or it is being held aloft by magic, such as by the fly spell.
