Press Kobold Press 20th Anniversary!

I really love those covers.
What's funny is that whenever I end up backing one of the kickstarters I can't decide between the regular cover and the special edition. They are both so awesome. The special edition is usually in that heavy metal style that I love both for the stylization and that it reminds me of the satanic panic of the 80s around TTRPGs. But the regular edition covers are usually so awesome, too. Usually I end up appreciating the regular covers through the PDFs. I believe Radle is the art director, so great job on those!

To get just slightly off topic, over in Paizo-land I've been loving what they're doing for their Starfinder line. There's a retailer cover that looks like the old video game box covers from Ataris games or early NES. They're so great that I made sure to get at least the Player Core and Alien Core in those covers. Their special edition covers are kind of the opposite of the KP special editions. While the KP is, as I said above, heavy metal, the SF2e special editions are minimalist works of art. If some money falls on my lap, I might re-buy the Galaxy Guide special edition cover. I love its minimalist use of the pirate logo. Something about that just tickles the right neurons in my brain.

Guilty as charged - I am indeed the Art Director, so the Regular and Limited Edition covers are my fault :)

I love the covers too, but there was some sort of snafu when I first ordered the special covers of TotV where they could only give me standard editions, so now I'm forced to only buy standard editions of the books since they wouldn't match 😔

condolences on that affliction. I'm not one of those people. I have normal sized books and pocked edition books. Special edition and normal edition. With SF2e they don't even have the same color purple across all their books. Doesn't bother me. I just shelf them based on the game they support and the order in which I got it.
