(he, him)
A player in my Age of Worms campaign has asked about the rites in Races of the Dragon for his new character. I do not have Races of the Dragon (although I am borrowing it from another player next week), so I am not familiar with them.
The rite the character is interested in (initially) allows any one 1st level spell as a spelllike ability 1/day, for a cost of 100 gp and 1 hp (permanently). Are there no other costs for these things? Apart from the opportunity cost of being a kobold, which is admittedly pretty big!
What do people think of these from a balance point of view? If it makes any difference, the game is a gestalt on and the character is a sorcerer:cleric of pelor.
Thoughts?
EDIT: Also, are there any other rites I should watch out for that I haven't seen yet?
