Kryptonian template?

Str+1000 is really overdoing it. That's 10^59 times stronger than a normal human. That's 59 zeroes behind the 1. Superman can lift perhaps a few thousand or ten thousand tons. Str+90 is about right.

He's moved planets by hand, you know.

That's pre-Crisis Supes. Post-Crisis he's not as strong. Actually, early Supes, probably up until sometime in the late 40s, was not that strong either. Check out the Fleischer Superman cartoons circa 1940 for good examples of his power around that time; he certainly wasn't strong enough to move planets then. The very earliest Supes couldn't even fly; he was able to "leap tall buildings in a single bound." Malibu's Ultraverse character, let's see, what was his name, Hardcase? - he was modelled after early Supes. The current Justice League cartoon Supes is pretty much the post-Crisis version of Superman.

Well, post-Crisis there's also only one type of Kryptonite- but now we have the silly alternate reality stuff happening all over again, er, what is it, everwhen or something? I dunno... but it seems that Superman is still pretty darn buff to me.

Still, maybe lower that to +500 on strength? He's clearly stronger than anything else on the planet...

Or at least, on most planets.

He's not really that stong if an aging batman could beat him up in The Dark Knight Returns, we're talking a 50+ year old Bruce Wayne beating up poor supes... :D Not to mention the entire Doomsday failure. DC had to create an overpowered villain to give supes a run for his money. an overpowered villain that is resurrected whenever it dies, and then goes on to become immune to whatever killed it. Hmm... I guess that makes it immune to superman, doesn't it?

Now for a random quote, you'll never hear in a batman comic (or series, or movie, or whatever.):

Holy Icicle Batman, It's Jesus, And he's stealing the ice cream truck! :D
