While Vitus considers bringing the true power of his god to bear on the undead, he knows better and, instead, still clutching the unconscious woman, runs as fast as his feet will bring him.

Making it to the ladder, he yells up,

"QUICK, WE'RE under attack! Get some archers and cover our retreat! And I need help bringing her up the ladder!

He says, trying to lift her up over his shoulder.

OOC: The KNight, Custodio, Vincenzo @ScottDeWar_jr and rockhorn @MetaVoid and Tymbeck all get 1 hp. ACTIONS: Doing a full run. I'm not sure what the dragging rules are. I can't lift her and move more than 5 feet BUT I can drag 5 times my own weight, so that's what Vitas does. His movement 40 feet X4 is 120feet so he'll stop just south of the ladder so that he's not in the way of anyone trying to get past. If you feel he's dragging "a heavy Load" His movement is 30 feet X3 for a run which puts him directly under the ladder. Assume his shield is sheathed from the previous round. "Xix, Maggs, this is no longer issue of loyalty! This thing isn't even with Phelix. Look at it, you disturbed an ancient guardian here! And your resident green idiot is raising more undead so that thing doesn't even have to do it! Do you think Imninon can keep control of his minor undead against powerful evil undead priest!? Defend yourself! Look, even your commander is attacking it!"
Akos doesn't need magic to sow confusion. He knows people and their drive for survival. Of course, the fact that the commander is attacking in his confused state is because he was attacked is irrelevant. This is the truth of the matter. Minor undead cannot stand against undead priest. Even Khargon in whatever incarnation he is now.

"Hmm, hunger? A ghoul or maybe a ghast?" Loremaster thinks to himself "A morgh...even a vampire? Mummy for the cleric, but mummies don't hunger. And they are all immune to my powers and most spells"

Aloud he calls to the group
"Indeed, let's get out of here. The doors will hold for a bit and they are natural defensible position. Clear out the guards above, send them to call on the Temples and Wizards districts, we have an undead infestation here that might quickly go out of hand! Move!"

Vitas feels like he’s heard the name Straevok the Soulkeeper before while doing his lessons at the temple.

Spritewing gallops toward the chute preparing to fly up in a minimum time so the wings don't get fouled up in narrow space.

The mass of the Wizard actually helps once he gallops vertically, the stone keeps him pressed into the wall for crucial moment while it changes directions and the pegasus holds the wings protectively flared around the stone.

Once he feels the weight is off, a powerful beat propels him up, although now the statue means he has to beat twice to counteract the drag of the inert weight.

He yells in dwarven as soon as he gets close "Friend incoming!"

Once he clears the entrance, still in dwarven.
"The exemplars are in fighting retreat, there are monsters and undead. Go get the priests and wizards!

And get this wizard off me, quickly, just cut the ropes and put it somewhere stable. The spell won't last long."

He looks at the guards.
"Move!"

Rockhorn looks back and calls out for those behind him.

"Decapitate that orc, we don't want it up again!"

Ooc: wild dwarf and fancy words, but the arena might teach one some specific words

Spritewing finds that there are three guards on duty in the guard house. Two are guarding the entryway into the room where Spritewing emerges from the room below. At first, he thinks they might move to block him, but instead, one of them shouts out to the other man in the room.

"Sergeant Griffith, it's the pegasus!"

"I can see and hear that, Mr. Halle." Another man where the uniform of an Elite specialist sits in a chair next to the archway leading to the entrance of the guard post. "Go tell your commander that the Exemplars are returning and that we have unwanted guests."

"Mr. Masson, it seems they have saved the wizard who was turned to stone." The man stands and speaks directly to Spritewing in perfect Dwarven. "I am Théotime Griffith. Delwyn and I will help get the wizard free. Hmm, levitation, I see. We will try to find a place for him that is out of the way."

He seamlessly switches back to Cliffspeak. "Mr. Halle, tell the two Elites out front to go inform Lord Commander Oakfirst at The Palace. And have one of them find Lady Émilienne or Captain de la Camoys. Monsters and undead might soon be besieging us."

OOC: I will be rolling Initiative rolls for all the guards stationed at the guard house.

Vitus is able to drag the unconscious Loyalist, Lithia, away from the battle without too much much difficulty. When he yells up towards the ladder, at first, there is no response. Then a calm voice shouts out to him. "The pegasus has warned us. We need to help him with the wizard first."

"Mr. Sourd and Ms. Aldenberg are still on duty down there. Captain Rodove thought it best to have a few friendly faces there to help you when you returned. The captain is on patrol right now with the rest of the Elites."

OOC: I need to roll initiative for both of the Elites stationed in the lower rooms.

OOC: I was going to reply in one combined post for both this knowledge check and Taran's knowledge check, but I've decided to split them into two different posts (since this reply is going to be more detailed). I'm assuming that Akos' check is mainly trying to discern the abilities of the Soul Stolen. Correct?

Akos doesn't need magic to sow confusion. He knows people and their drive for survival. Of course, the fact that the commander is attacking in his confused state is because he was attacked is irrelevant.

"Loremaster, have your ally drop the grease spell, or the others will remained trapped on the other side with the undead priest!" Maggs seems enthralled by Akos warning, but the Loremaster knows the charm controlling her makes her susceptible to his words. "If you really want us to work together, then a show of good faith will help."

The other Loyalists seem wary of Akos' warning of suggestion. The man named Xix is too far away from Akos to hear the Loremaster over the sounds of battle and roaring undead.

Big Tim can see that the man standing next to Kellam seems worried about the undead priest's sudden appearance, but keeps his focus on defending himself if the Tall Knight attacks.

"Yesss, make it easier to kill you all... I dare you!" Kellam hisses loudly for all to hear. He then laughs manically.

This is the truth of the matter. Minor undead cannot stand against undead priest. Even Khargon in whatever incarnation he is now.

OOC: For Neurotic Only: While Akos cannot see what Khargon has become, at this point, he knows, as noted below, due to understanding the powers of a Soul Stolen, which is a custom creation of mine based loosely off the Skeleton Warrior template from Tome of Horrors (Revised).

Akos quickly realizes that the Soul Stolen, the undead thing that was once the mercenary known as Imninon, is a very dangerous creature and that it has indeed turned Khagron into a vampiric creature, if not a true immortal undead vampire.

Its first creation, the undead orc, is less of a threat. That creature has no will of its own and won't exist for long -- a minute at most. Then it will turn to dust.

Akos remembers reading about such abominations many years ago. Only the worst sort of person would dare create such a thing as a Soul Stolen, for it does, indeed, steal the soul of the dead and traps it in a soul stone. In some cases, the being's soul is controlled by more than one stone. Akos doesn't remember exactly how this is done, but if multiple stones do exist, then this undead foe will be hard to destroy permanently. Akos knows that one of the Loyalists here has, at least, one soul stone used to control the creature. Without it, Imninon would ravage through all present, uncontrolled.

The soul stolen will continue to use its eye rays to turn the dead into undead. Most will only become skeletons or zombies, but those who had stronger wills could rise as wights and vampires. Wights will eventually turn to dust but it will take hours not minutes. The vampires created could survive Imninon's destruction.

Akos also knows the creature is resistant to magic and physical attacks. Blades and arrows will do little to hurt it. And, it cannot be turned or rebuked by any cleric, no matter how powerful. The only way to control it is to gain its soul stone. And, any who use the stone to control it will be marked for death by the soul stolen.

Akos tries to remember more details, but cannot.
