Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [IC]

Falen:
Aloft in overwatch, Falen has visibility over the entirety of the corridor, beyond Tim (though this frame covers a chunk of it). He goes active on mindsight and his telepathic radar. He feels the time dilation slip, much like the feeling one has when one jumps from a height, a pit in one’s stomach. He gives instructions to Tim mentally, “Everyone is clear. We are leaving. Steadily move back to us. Defend your front. But get back past the door.” He then addresses the crystal mentally; “Into a pocket you go, youngster; we’re leaving.
Almost simultaneously, Falen casts Mage Hand to close the door to the time dilation room, holding the hand on the door handles.
(If there is a key, he turns it. Otherwise, the mage hand simply holds it in place.)

Big Tim reacts swiftly to the undead monstrosity as it crawls along the wall to his right before it plops down in front of Tim and flashes its eye rays into the Ancients' sanctuary to awaken the bugbear cleric. The Knight of the Scarlet Cross lashes out with his magical greatsword and cuts a deep gash in the creature.

It hisses at Tim.

"Keep your focus on raising the others, Imninon," Kellam orders the creature. "You can kill him afterwards."

Falen:

Tim shifts his stance in response. He mentally nods to Falen.

The heavy door closest to Kellam begins to close. It takes all of Falen's magical ability to force it to shut. The other door tries to close as well, but it is too much weight for Falen's spell and it only thumps into the prone skeletal orc on the floor. Falen's mindsight didn't detect the mindless undead.

He does detect all the other foes that he can see and one other that is still hidden above the top landing of the stairs at the end of the corridor. Whoever it is has a strong mind.

Ting obeys Falen and zips into one of the Mindbender's pockets. At the same moment, the psicrystal begins speaking to Falen telepathically. "That is one of the Soulkeeper's ancient priests. It is a powerful creature that is usually only found in the labyrinth's catacombs."

A wave of knowledge enters Falen's mind about the Soulkeeper and his followers. While the psicrystal's mind isn't as powerful as the Living Altar's, the knowledge is soon overflowing in the Mindbender's head. If it had been anyone else but Falen, then the amount of knowledge might have stunned them.

OOC: A reminder that the double doors to the High Sanctuary of the Ancients are oversized and heavy. They stand tall enough for a Large-sized creature and are quite heavy. Regardless, I'm going to say Falen can force closed the one door. The other door is being blocked by the prone savage skeleton warrior, which crawled there on its turn this round.

For Aust Thale Only: Falen's Mindsight Feat (closest to farthest) -> Brelish Thug, Int 10 (humanoid); Soul Stolen (Imninon), Int 11 (undead); Maggs (charmed), Int 12 (humanoid); Kellam Black, Int 15 (humanoid); Loyalist Soldier (confused), Int 14 (humanoid); Brelish Thug Archer, Int 10 (humanoid); Unknown Foe, Int 20 (humanoid); Loyalist Soldier (Xix), Int 14; Kefax Fetolsson (confused), Int 14 (humanoid); Undead Priest of the Soulkeeper, Int 15 (undead); Loyalist Fanatic (Cassara; confused, not show on map), Int 12, humanoid.

Ting - Knowledge (religion) check: 1D20+5 = [20]+5 = 25 (Natural 20!) :ROFLMAO:
(20 becomes 30 +5 = 35)

I will post the details about the undead priest and The Soulkeeper on the OOC thread in a little while. I need to post for Gattas and end the round first. I will get it posted tonight.

Gattas takes advantage of his close proximity to the chest of goods meant for the Deaf-Mute Knight. He picks it off the floor and carries it beyond the door of the labyrinth where he nearly collapses to the floor. He barely manges to keep from dropping the chest on his own feet.

Round Six Begins Here
-------------------------------------
The archer standing just beyond Falen's grease spell decides against trying to hit Big Tim again. Instead, he takes aim at the flying Mindbender. He easily finds the range to Falen, but there are too many foes in the way. His arrow clips Tymbeck's shield and shatters against the ceiling in front of Falen. If the shot had been any better, it would have hit the Mindbender.

"No! Stop firing," Maggs orders the archer. "We must work together against... THAT!" She points back towards the undead priest. Kellam, sir, we need to-"

"Just ignore her, Autar, and keep firing. Kefax and the others will hand the spawn of Straevok."

"Yes sir!" The replies with glee.

"You hear me, Kefax! You need to snap out of it and destroy that pretender. Wizard, I know you're there! Do something, you dolt!"

Maggs doesn't like her odds. She looks at the thuggish man in front of her and then at Big Tim. She nods to the Tall Knight and then moves with hope that he understands that she means him no harm. At first, Viscardi isn't sure what she's doing, but once she is past him, she moves with precision to step past Tim, if he allows her. She hopes the other Loyalists won't attack her. She knows if she can make to Akos, he will be able to make the other see reason.

"NO! Stop her!" Kellam screams. He brings his heavy mace and tries to take her head off. The woman manages to protect her head with her blade, but Kellam shifts his swing and catches her under the arm. The weapon grinds against flesh and bone. She grits her teeth and hopes Tim will let her pass.

"Viscardi, you fool. Kill her."

The man simply looks back at the undead priest and then lets out a sigh. He takes up a stance to threaten both Kellam and the Soul Stolen. "I'm not dying for you or your crazy leader today. Guildmaster Kelik never should have allied the guild with you fanatics."

"TRAITOR!"

"To my guild, never. To you and Phelix... well, I will take that chance." He glances at Big Tim. "I'm with you, for now. But I will not give up my blade or my life for you either."

OOC: @Tellerian Hawke, makes a DC 20 Sense Motive (Hunch) check to realize that Maggs is switching sides (if not actually surrendering). She's charmed, so she thinks the PCs are her friends, especially Akos. If you fail the check, then you think she is attacking or trying to slip by to get to the others. If you succeed, then she will withdraw (a double move) past Tim.

She takes the following AoOs from Kellam and the Soul Stolen, regardless...
Kellam Black - AoO vs Maggs with heavy mace: 1D20+14 = [10]+14 = 24 (hit)
1D8+7 = [6]+7 = 13

Soul Stolen (longsword) - AoO vs Maggs: 1D20+16 = [2]+16 = 18 (miss)
1D8+10 = [3]+10 = 13

Vitus isn't sure what to do about his unconcious prisoner. As far as he's concerned, she's a fallen victim and he was going to try to do his best to help her survive. She probably won't see it that way when she wakes up.

"Throw a rope down so I can tie it under her arms and you can pull her up! She's unconscious!

Then he hears the man, Viscardi, arguing with Kellum,

"A truce Viscardi! Akos, Tim! A truce with the guild!"

Spritewing nods and bows "Apologies for abruptness, there are friends down there and I'm here carrying possibly useless stone. Just cut me loose."
The Elite sergeant quickly gets up from his chair and rushes over to Spritewing. He produces a dagger from his belt and begins slashing the ropes off of the dungeonbred pegasus and the petrified wizard. The man moves great precision and Spritewing can tell the man is well trained with the blade.

"We'll have you free as quickly as possible, Mr. Spritewing."

Before Sergeant Griffith can reply. The door swings open in front of Vitus and nearly hits him the face. "No need to shout. We're here to help," Vitus hears a woman's voice from the other side of the door. "Alban! They're back. The cleric of Tyche needs help with a prisoner."

"I did hear him, Betella," a male voice replies.

"Mr. Vitus," Sergeant Griffith yells back from above. "I need to get this rope off Mr. Spritewing quickly. Cutting it will ruin it, unfortunately. We can find you another, but you have to hold on!"

"I don't speak for the guild," Viscardi yells back without knowing who he is speaking with. He can't see past Tim and Maggs, and he's not sure how the person heard him. "I only speak for myself!"

"No truces, traitor!" The Brelish archer begins to reach for another arrow. "I'll kill you myself."
