Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [IC]

Tuck knows it is time to flee. He rushes out of the door past Rockhorn and Gattas without another word. He moves around the young knight and get ready to start climbing. Then...

Everything is spiralling out of control and everything is happening too fast.

Vitus reaches over his shoulder and plunges his hand into his ratty old backpack. Without looking, he pulls out exactly what is needed: 50 feet of silk rope. Taking one end, he drops the spool next to the unconscious Loyalist,

OOC: move action: draw rope from haversack

“Here, tie this around her armpits, we will pull her up”

Holding the end, he scrambles up the ladder.

OOC: move action 2: move 40 feet up the ladder
Tuck watches as Vitus pulling a spool of rope out of his pack and drop it on the floor. Then the young cleric is up the ladder and out of sight. Tuck sighs. He's doing a lot of hogtying today. He notes the guard in the doorway. "I'll need your help... we don't want them pulling up an empty rope."

Then, a moment later, Alban is rushing through the doorway past Betella and into the Ladder Room. "I've got this Betella! Go back up The Exemplars still in the labyrinth, but don't go in there.

She nods to Alban.

In the Guard House:
TaranTheWanderer said:
[Vitus] shows the rope to the guards and the genie upstairs,

“Help me pull her up!”
"You are very eager to save someone who tried to kill us," Princess Eeldai says defiantly. "I'm all for being honourable but..."

"He is doing his duty as cleric, dear lady," Sergeant Griffith. He glances towards the young priest of Tyche. "I'm almost done here, Mr. Vitus. A few moments longer."

OOC: @Aust Thale, you're up for Falen.

Falen:
Falen’s ears are twitching. The bugbear cleric …er…vampire/wight undead thingie startled him. “What the nine hells?
Tym, you need to move. Now.” Falen blurts out mentally as his hands craft a spell. He releases it almost in desperation, having never casted while flying. He found the exercise surprisingly pedestrian, or he would have, were it not for the discomfiting environs and revived enemies. Aiming for Kellam, he releases the spell, whispering the evocation and watching as three blue shards of energy race to their target. Mentally, he reaches Akos, “I’m covering retreat. Need to know that our rearguard is secure.
Magic Missile Damage: 3D4+3 = [4, 1, 1]+3 = 9

The shards fly over the heads of Tim and the turncoat thug, Viscardi, and slam into Kellam's chest. The vicious man had been so intent on Tim, he hadn't seen them coming. He doesn't cry out but he glares at the Mindbender.

"We're way past that point. Move as fast as you can or you'll join them." comes calm reply
"Yes, listen to the Loremaster," Ting insists to Falen mentally. "The portal hums once more. I can feel it in the temple. More Loyalists are coming through. Any second now! Time to flee!"

Down at the other end of the corridor, Gattas considers going back for the one of the two barrels of goods... for only a second. He shakes his head and moves towards the ladder. He waits for Tuck and the guard tie up Livia. He knows she'd rather be left behind to become an undead servant of Phelix, but he hopes that once she is away from the thrallmasters that her mind might become hers once more.

"I'll watch your backs," he says to Tuck. He takes up a defensive stance and waits for the rest of The Exemplars to come down the corridor. "None of you can die here today. You're too important."

"Who is he?" Betella asks Tuck, as the duo begins tying up the unconscious woman.

"An agent of The Five, maybe," Tuck replies.

End of Round 6

Round Seven Starts Here!

The archer by the stairs retreats from the undead creature and its swirling spell of blades. As he moves, the servant of the Soulkeeper brings its wicked looking morningstar around and smacks the man on his back. It makes a crunching and tearing sound as it hits Autar.

"Foul brigand! Dirty thief!" It snarls.

"Ahhh!" Autar yells. He is soon standing next to Kellam on the other side of the slippery surface. He turns and tries to pinpoint the creature on the other side of Xix, but his shot flies well overhead and hits the wall behind the undead priest.

Down the corridor, Maggs sheathes her cold iron longsword and then moves away from the fight to stand 5 feet away from Akos. "You have to try to make Commander Kellam see reason, Loremaster. The priest of the Soulkeeper is the real foe here. I know you can convince him."

Akos is glad to see that his control on her is holding firm.

"If we could direct the Soul Stolen, Imninon, to fight that thing, we might be able to defeat it. The priest won't be able to turn it. That's one of the creature's many gifts provided by Master Phelix. It is both horrible and beautiful, is it not?"

"Falen! They are here! Flee! Ting mentally warns the Mindbender.

From somewhere beyond the stairs, there is the sound of more boots on stone. It is hard to hear over the sounds of battle.

"Careful where you step!" the man name Kefax yells out. "The old trap!"

"Yes sir!" An unknown male voice is barely audible over slashing blades and bursting magic.

In the Guard House:
"There you are, Mr. Spritewing! You're free! We'll watch over this pour soul. Go! Help your friends below!"

For a moment, Vincenzo considers holding his ground. Then, the risen vampire appears and he knows it's time to flee.

"TIM! Let's Go! Now!" He yells out to Sir Tymbeck. "There is no honour in dying here. You don't want that thing raising you as an undead, do you!?"

He doesn't wait for a reply from the Knight of the Scarlet Cross. He rushes away down the corridor. He stops just for a moment to speak to Akos. "Whatever you're going to do, you better do it now!" He glances back. "Can you turn the vampire? Or maybe that skeleton at least?"

Then, Vinny is off down to where Rockhorn stands. "We need to get the hell out of here!"

"Traon, destroy that... thing," Kefax whispers. "Don't concern yourself with Xix."

A voice begins incanting a spell from beyond the stairs. Then, several motes of pure lightning appears above the stairs and then moves down into the undead priest. The undead servant of the Soulkeeper howls in anger as the motes hit it square on and powerful electricty rips through it.

"Damn Unbelievers! Foul Invaders!"

Next to Kellam, the prone Loyalist screams in confusion, grabs its sword off the floor and swings it at the back of Kellam's legs. The blade digs in deep.

"Blasted fey bastard!" Kellam shouts a curse meant for Akos, not his confused warrior. "I'm going to tear your guts out!"

Xix finds himself trapped with no where to go but back across the grease spell. He tries to move quickly, yet carefully, away from the undead priest. But, his balance fails him and he nearly falls flat on his face again. He hopes the monster behind him doesn't skewer him.

OOC: @Tellerian Hawke, you're up for Big Tim.

Tim says, "Discretion is the better part of valor. Imninon, I assure you, we shall meet again! But for now, I bid you farewell. Or maybe, fare badly. Your situation is pitiable, to be sure, but also likely permanent, your soul forever tainted. I regret the decisions you made that led you to such an end... As for you, Khagron, you'll get no sympathy from me. Your new form is just as evil as your old one! But we're in a bit of a hurry, so we're going to have to wait, and kill you some other day! In the meantime, I'll take good care of your little toy."

Tim will then use a WITHDRAW full-round action. He can retreat at twice his speed, which is 60 ft. Withdrawing does not provoke attacks of opportunity. 60 ft. worth of movement should put him right next to Custodio.
