Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [IC]

As Khagron blindly rushes at Tim, the Tall Knight strikes out a cuts a wound in the evil creature. Then, he brings his blade around again and again. The first stike cuts deep and Khragon howls. The newlyy created vampire dodges the second one, but just barely. Tim bring's Rizvan's shield around to slam it into the vampire, but Khagron deflects it away with its forearm.

"This new form suits me, I think," it hisses. "I will have to thank my employer for this gift."

The man named Kellam Black pulls a second potion from his belt pouch and drinks it down. The effect is immediate. His form begins to shift and shimmer, which seems to conceal the man's position in the dimly lit corridor.

At the other end of the corridor, Custodio follows Vitus's lead. He hopes he can turn more than just the skeleton. He pulls down his sleave and raises his forearm to present the holy symbol tattoo of the Vanquisher order. He calls out to the Purifier. "Hear my plea, great Lord of Light. Give me your divine power to destroy these hateful foes!"

The power of the Vanquisher cleric's god explodes out from the tattoo as it glows with pure light. But, only the skeleton, already reeling from being turned by Vitus, is affected. It opens its skeletal mouth as if to howl but there is only silence.

"No good, too powerful for me," he takes a step back and looks back towards Rockhorn. "When Spritewing gets back, we need to send him to get Sir Silvas from my temple. He's the most powerful paladin in Bluffside."

OOC: Kellam Black drinks a potion of blur, which grants him concealment (20% miss chance).

Custodio turns undead. He has ranks of Knowledge (religion), so he gets +2 to his turning check. His Charisma bonus is +4.
Knightfall Request: 1d20+6 Roll: [11] = 17 Reason: Custodio's Turning Check (7 HD)
Request: 2d6+9 Roll: [4, 3] = 16 Reason: Custodio's Turning Damage
- While that's a (somewhat) decent result, he cannot turn the vampire or wight.

There is a loud, power roar from somewhere far up the corridor. You hear the sound of heavy footfalls and powerful grunts and hisses. Then, there is another ROAR, even louder. Something big pounds against stone and mortar.

"Soldiers, get out of his way!" Kefax orders calmly. "Phelix's great son has come to bring down The Exemplars! Praise be to the abyssal son!"

"Praise Be!" All of the Loyalists intone in unison.

Then, you hear the other, unknown voice shout out in Ticin. "What blasphemous horror is this twisted spawn? Bah! It is nothing compared to the power of the Ticinum Empire!"

"It will be your death," the Loyalist wizard replies sternly in the same language. Then, he laughs manically and shouts in Cliffspeak. "All. Must. Fall!"

"All. Must. Fall!" The Loyalists intone together even those who have been cursed into undeath. "For the glory of the Unseen Abyss!"

Tim notices out of the corner of his eye that Viscardi is shaking at the knees. He looks ready to piss himself. "I d-did not join the g-guild for this m-madness!"

"Come on, boys and girls, the goblin is gaining on you! If someone faster takes over gate duty, I can ready to skewer someone who tries to get out of there!"
Just as Rockhorn begins speaking, Falen flies past the others and the wild dwarf in a flash and disappears up into the guard house.

Custodio seems hesitant to retreat until Tim has moved back more. Both Maggs and Viscardi look ready to rush past Rockhorn as fast as they can move. While it is Akos' magic that guides the female Loyalist, it is fear that is obviously driving the man named Viscardi.

MetaVoid said:
Rockhorn yells "Climb! Climb! What are you doing bunching there, they have a wizard!"
"In a second!" Tuck yells back. The kobold is obviously irritated that he had to waste time trying to save the fallen Loyalist.

"Don't be ridiculous, we're retreating, not like we all will stand here. Either ready crossbow, holy water or whatever you have, or climb up and get ready!" Akos yells at the soldiers "Just because he's not one of your, doesn't mean his advice is not good. And he's no villain! Don't assume!"
Betella seems shocked by the Loremaster's words. She had expected them to give up these rooms without a fight. Or is Akos trying to inspire her to action? She prepares to unsling her crossbow from her back and cover the heroes' retreat. She glances at Gattas with a wary eye. He wears the trappings of a Loyalist soldier. Likely the Loremaster swayed the man with powerful words.

Yes. She nods to herself. That must be it.

In the Guard House:
The other guard turns and runs back towards the petrified man. The two guards will have the victim moved out of the way soon.

Akos notes her hesitation. "We'll try to get everyone up, we will cover you, go."
Turning forward still holding the anti-magic scroll
"It would be extremely risky to cast this here at the gate. I cannot get Kefax from here."

He casts something and sings single pure note. Clear sound reverberates of the walls as Khagrons armor resonates with the sound.

OOC: Casts Shatter on Khagrons armor. Armor rolls will roll DC 16.

The walls of the Labyrinth seem to sing the magical note back to Akos, mentally, but nothing else happens. The resonance on Khagron's armor makes a muffled pinging sound, quickly ends, and Akos knows the armour is magical and cannot be shattered.

OOC: Shatter cannot affect "functioning" magical items.

OOC: i didn't know that. I thought they get bonus to resist, not that they are immune...and Akos knows it is magical because he scanned Khagron
At least there is no casting because we took his holy symbol:)

Edit: from SRD:
Nonmagical, unattended items never make saving throws. They are considered to have failed their saving throws, so they always are affected by spells. An item attended by a character (being grasped, touched, or worn) makes saving throws as the character (that is, using the character’s saving throw bonus).

Magic items always get saving throws. A magic item’s Fortitude, Reflex, and Will save bonuses are equal to 2 + one-half its caster level. An attended magic item either makes saving throws as its owner or uses its own saving throw bonus, whichever is better

OOC: Shatter specifically states that the spell works on nonmagical items only.

Yes, Akos knew the armour is magical, so he'd probably know Shatter wouldn't work. Roll a DC 10 Spellcraft check. If your successful, you can choose a different action.
