Kung Fu Hustle

I saw this movie and thought it was fun. It's not as kenetic as the commercial's suggest, but it has a kind of respectful fun with kung-fu movies and the cliches and convetions of the same.

Some of the moments are good enough to steal for a game, like the protagonist trying to pick people out of a crowd to fight and later defiantly bonking a bad guy on the head with a stick.

Absolutly loved it. I saw it once in the theater and perhaps ten times since it came out on DVD. I was hooked from the opening scene. I highly recommend it to anyone who has not checked it out yet.

It has many good moments, including when the land lord and his wife finaly step up and do battle with the Axe Gang, the battle with the musicians, but my favorite scene is where the protagonist is trying to kill the land lord's wife.

If you saw Shaolin's Soccer, yeah...you'll love Kung Fu Hustle as well. :) :) :) . And if it is not known...a sequel starts filming next year for KFH. :D :D :D

Kung Fu Hustle is a work of genius. (And so is Shaolin Soccer.)

Favorite moment: When the protagonist (?) hits the main bad guy in the head with a stick. For the second time. It cracks me up just thinking about it.

The knife-throwing scene is awesome. And the musicians are the way
D&D bards *should* be. Those guys would make great villains in
a D&D game...

Stephen Chow is a comic genius. His timing is incredible, and I found myself laughing through most of this movie. Now, if only we could get him to do a "serious" kung fu fantasy film with more things like the musician assassins in it.

Favorite moments:

Chow: "That was when I realized that nice guys finish last. Now I want to be the bad guy, I want to be the killer!"
Chow's Sidekick: "Oooh! Ice cream!"
Chow: "Where?

The scene where Chow's character is picking a fight with various members of the crowd.

The scene where Chow and his cohort try to kill the landlady.

The scene where Chow whacks "The Beast" on the head for the second time.

I haven't laughed that hard since the episode "Last Call" from Season 2 of Dead Like Me.
