it is not udden by any means, i have always been fascinated with guerilla theater, and i see this as closely related. i am actually quite amazed at the gulf between what "WE" do and larpers :)

as a sculptor and former theater geek (sets, not acting) i see monstropossibilities :)

"monstropossibilities"!?!?!?

Like what? A 1:1 scale ceramic version of Mount Doom? A ceramic diaorama of the Battle of the Five Armies? A ceramic lunar base for the sci-fi LARPers?

Some issues you may want to consider:

You won't get a kiln large enough to fire anything bigger than a Shetland Pony. Suggestion: Build Mt. Doom from the inside out. The heat from the kiln will fire the clay on the outside, which will then act as insuation for future projects (e.g. ceramic lunar base).

Boffer weapons would be great for the diaorama. But the giant eagles might be tricky. You'll have to do clay versions of them and launch them out of a trebuchet when its time for their arrival. They may land on the heads of the LARPers which would cause injury. Suggestion: make them sign release forms.

The lunar base may be hard to get into space. Suggestion: use clay on the moon.

I'm glad to have been of help.

this isn't too far from some of the things i have done. i have beuilt many kilns wiht paper :)

build what you want from a wood frame, cover with chicken wire, cover with 10 layers of paper soaked in slip, fire.

it is an amazing and neat process :)

and i don't just work clay, i carve stone and wood, and have a full set of blacksmiths tools i am working with :)

but your stuff was funnier :)
