Hello all

Recently I gained enough exp to advance to lvl 2.

Question: In what location of my character sheet do I put the posts with the info of exp, money and new equipment that I've gathered throughout from my adventures?

Hi there...

I was curious as to how long character approval generally takes. I submitted my character a week ago and still have not received any feedback.

Thanks!

It really depends on how many characters are in line for approval from the judges. But don't feel like you have to wait until your approved to do anything. Feel free to wander into the tavern and RP there, and if you do find an adventure to go on before you're approved thats also allowed so long as the judge/dm are ok with it. You just have to wait for approval before you actually gain ny exp.

Edit: My understanding dimsdale is you just add it into the exp section on your sheet in the wiki, then make the changes to level 2 and resubmit just like when you first made the character. Check out Vashik on the wiki for how mine is done, I think that should answer your question.

That last bit is the part that worries me. I've been RPing in the tavern a bit, and I would like to go out on an adventure, but I'd like some assurance of actually getting xp for going. It's been two weeks since I created my character, and he has gotten no approvals despite 2 emails to the judges and (I believe) doing everything correctly.

Well it took almost three for me to get mine. I wouldn't worry too much. Worst case scenario is you start an adventure and have the approval come in afterward. Because of the pace of pbp I can't imagine your approval taking long enough that it became a problem. My advice is just message one of the judges here on the Forum and just hold on.

I know from personal experience that sometimes reality takes from gaming time and even judges find that. Don't stress you'll get your exp and your approvals :D

As one of the judges, I'd like to apologize for that - we've gotten your emails, but it seems that we're all in a very busy time at the moment. I hope to have time to do some character approvals this week; yours isn't the only one that's waiting.

As for the assurance of getting XP, what the DMs traditionally do in L4W is 'bank' the XP, only giving big lump sum awards either at the end of an adventure or when there's enough that it would level up some or all of the characters on the adventure. Easier to keep track of that way. So, in other words, even if you join an adventure you're likely not going to be officially awarded any XP for at least a month or two. And we'll make sure you're approved before you get awarded that, don't worry :)

Thanks for the explanation of how xp works and the reassurance! :)
