L4W Discussion Thread III

I've been trying to review some character submissions but with EN World this unreliable its a huge pain. So if its possible to move or copy the wiki to an external site, that would be nice.

Any news on when EN World will "return to normal"?

I must say, as someone on dial-up now that En-World is back up and running I am actually probably the only one not noticing the slowdown hahaha.

As for moving it exterior to EN-World it seems like a big hassle assuming things will be getting back to how they were. I know I haven't been here that long but other then this there hasnt been any notable problems since I joined last fall and it seems like a big task to transition to another wiki.

I understand sites have trouble, they go up, they go down, they have problems (I run one of my own). But it would be nice to have some kind of update as to what is going on and what to expect.

Has anybody heard or read anything?

Cheers,
nt

More than likely they're being overloaded with GenCon coming up, although Morrus has mentioned that he's not sure what the problem is.

Personally, I think it's best just to wait, it hasn't even been a week yet.

Well, like covaithe said, the wiki has always been slower than the forums, so even when/if it goes back to normal, I think it'd be good to have the wiki elsewhere.

I'm trying to set up some templates on wikia right now to make sure the stuff we've done on enwiki will work there.

Hey, EN World seems to be running pretty fast and stable now. Does that mean we're through the last of the "aftershocks"?

Hehe, Bad Dunamin :p

I am still experiencing lot's of problems and it takes me forever to load a page.

Hope it soon gets stable.

Lucky you. :p

Me, pages still take WAY to long to load, and that's assuming that they load at all. Half the time it just gives me the 'can't load this page' screen.
