Is there any shortage in any kind of characters here? (striker, defender, leader, controller). I'm interested in making a character with high demand

Yes you can go in the tavern and even start adventuring wihout approval, you just can't get XP without it.

I started a short adventure a couple months ago (totally awesome by the way...nice job Ukingsken) with an unapproved character. About half way through the adventure I got the two approvals I needed. Approvals don't come quickly or easily because it takes some time for judges do a thorough check over your sheet. If somethings are not right, they'll tell you and you'll have to change it before they give you the approvals. I...uh...know this from experience...many...many changes I had to make. But I'm a wiser person now, and darn proud of it!

Hey Otakkun, in L4W you get 25 points to buy your abilities with. It looks like you only spent 22 on your wizard.

Also, yeah, you can use the backgrounds from PH/AP/PH2, but there are also custom regional backgrounds. If you didn't see them they are here (along with other helpful info): L4W:Character Creation - ENWiki

JNC, moving the list of approved sources sounds perfectly reasonable.

That will make 2 controllers in the Inn, but it's true there is a lack of controllers, as the PHB2 have only recently be approved, and 1 controller class at start was well announcing the lack of controller.
