L4W Discussion Thread IV

Note any imperfection in the approval section, if the only thing holding you back is minor, or correcting it would be in the PC's favor, approbation may be in order.

I don't suggest changing anything yourself, almost always allow the player to correct their own sheet.

This helps the player learn from those mistakes, and also gives a signal to the community that the player is still active with the character.

Send PMs to players to inform them they need to make corrections.

When everything is approved, send the player and judges an email saying as much.

I'm the opposite - I correct things as long as there's no question what it should be. If other parts of the sheet depend on the thing I think is wrong, or if there's the slightest chance the player would have chosen differently if they're realized the correct value for something then I leave it for them to fix. (ie. "You forget the armour penalty in all your skills" - simple mechanical problem, but maybe the player really wanted a high Stealth skill and would choose to take lighter armour instead of fixing the penalty. In the case of something like, "You added wrong so your hp are too low," I fix it because there's nothing the player can choose differently to make it come out right.)

Also, only fix things if it's really obvious (usually just a typo). Sometimes you might be the one who's missing something.

Sorry, but I'm confused. Is my character approved or not? Mewness wrote "unoffically" in his comments, but then the status was changed to approved; that seemed contradictory.

I'd just like to be sure. Sorry if I'm being a pain.

She's approved (e-mailed you as well). 1 from an official judge Ozy, and one from a character reviewer (non-judge). I'll correct the terminology of Mewness' approval

Awesome. I hadn't gotten the email yet, but it just arrived. Apologies again if I jumped the gun and thank you for the explaination. :)

Yes, looks like Chaku has been tagged as approved as well. I think Papolstaanas is the only unapproved character in Food of the Gods now :(

I would check it for you, but I'm so new to 4th edition I'm not sure I'd catch something if there was a problem. >.>;
