Pathfinder 1E Lance on horseback one handed.

I appreciate the info. I see a lot about rlp...but none of it seems to answer my concerns about using a lance mounted 1 handed in regular melee. Guess it'll be something I'll have to take and accept..

Well no RPG rules of weapons are really accurate and some things that concern you make perfect sense to others (especially in that none of us has been involved in actual medieval warfare!:)). But it is your game, especially if you are DM, change the rules. If you don't like full attacks with the lance, restrict it to a single attack as an attack or full round action :D

Oh, I can see poking and jabbing and attacking..but full Attack and Damage? That just seems unreasonable.

I don't see anything significantly unreasonable about a full attack if the character (and mount) isn't charging. That's just jabbing more than once. I'd say it also makes sense to apply the one-handed strength bonus, rather than the 1.5x strength bonuses two-handed weapons normally give you. Keep in mind that most feats designed to increase a lance's damage are based on charging - so none of them apply when you're not charging (and can get a full attack).

I'd have to say three attacks from a BAB 11 character is no less realistic (and no more a balance problem) than the same BAB 11 character firing 5 arrows from his longbow in the same timeframe (using Rapid Fire and that "first shot fires two arrows" feat). Others may see it differently, of course, but the only likely result of restricting lance attacks more than swords, maces or bows, etc., is that players stop choosing to use lances.

Keep reading the FAQ. It talks about iterative attacks with a lance after after a charge.

I have never been a fan of the answer to that FAQ. As far as I'm concerned, it's an example of giving up narrative sense because of the letter of the law (the RAW, in this case) and in my game I don't follow its advice. I don't recommend anyone else doing so either.

If you play by the rules then that is what you follow. I'm a Pathfinder Society member so we follow the rules. You are always free to homebrew anything you want in your games.

On a related note: The lance can be wielded in 1 hand while on horseback, but it is still a 2h weapon. By RAW, this means it should get increased Str bonus damage and power attack damage, among other things. How do people play this?

A lance used in a charge doesn't use utilize an individual's strength. It is shouldered and kept steady, but at no point does the lancer use his strength to make the hit. May as well be a finesse weapon. All the damage and force comes from the horse.

In D&D, this is represented by the damage multiplier afforded it. If I were trying to be more realistic, I would remove Str bonus entirely from the mounted charge formula.
Honestly, dealing a few more points of damage isn't going to break anything, so I just leave it in.

One-handed strength because it's wielded one-handed. I figure if you can get two-handed strength bonuses wielding a one-handed weapon with two hands, I see no problem or inconsistency getting just the one-handed bonus wielding a lance with one hand.
