I'd love a 4 hour version in the theater. But I think PJ may lose a lot of money that way, because only the hardcore fans would want to sit through 4 hours of hairy hobbitness.

And, lets be honest, the hardcore fans all want super duper extended length DVD's so they can watch 12 hours of the whole series, all in one sitting, so 4 hours won't be enough for them anyway

Besides, I thought he moved Shelob to Return of the King because he didn't have enough in RofK? Seems silly to go over now.

He moved Shelob over because he felt it interrupted the storyline that was built up between Frodo, Sam and Gollum.
