Where/When did Wotc Customer Service say such a thing? One of their reps says just the opposite at the bottom of page three in this thread:

You're not expecting WotC customer service to be consistent, are you?

The best thing about CustServ is that no matter what answer you prefer for a question, as long as it's mildly logical you can keep asking and eventually one of the reps will tell it to you.

I'm not sure where that was said, I just saw someone mention it somewhere. I didn't agree with them so I didn't take note of where it was said :p

James has a point though - WotC's customer service is developing a record of being inconsistent, unfortunately.

Maybe confusion on their part or on the part of the person they responded to? I've seen a lot of talk back and forth about how the WotC reps gave conflicting information, but nobody's actually posted the conflicting emails anywhere, or gave names of who said what or anything.

For all we know, the person who got the supposedly "conflicting message" might have asked something completely different and misread the response. We've got no actual evidence of anything, other than some rumors far from their source.

I've had reps give me two different answers for the same 3.5 question asked once from my home email and another time (because I'm impatient) from my work email.
