Leadership feat

I'd say "no". The feat is based off of level, not equivalent character level. If so, then the 3rd level half dragon fighter (ECL = 3) could take the feat at 3rd level instead of 6th, which doesn't seem right to me....

Hit dice is not the same as equivalent class level. I'd say that yes he can take it.

ECL is more like a 1st level fighter (for example) with extra abilities (better than core classes) and needs to be readjusted according to that. In that case, no, he couldn't take it.

But a 6 HD monster has 6 character level in "monster" class.

Extra, semi-pointless post: Bast is right; it has 6 levels of "monster." Heeey... Great Wyrms have 30+ charisma... Bwahaha! Now they have armies and cohorts! Mwahaha!

I love these boards, they give me such eeevil ideas ;)

I would also agree that monster hit dice contribute to character level. There's no reason why they wouldn't count towards the leadership feat.

Every dragon can have this during their second age category! White's, the smallest, have 3 hd at age/lvl1 and 6 hd at the next step ... I'd like to see some of your results on this one

I don't see why not. It seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Remember that dragons are individuals. The Leadership Feat implicitly requires the character to invest regular time chatting up potential recruits in a social context. For some dragons, this is perfectly appropriate. Not for most, though.

BTW, the crueler dragons do not much benefit with this Feat because of the effects of multiple "caused the death of cohort" and "caused the death of other followers" events. Dragons live a long time, and having a nasty bout of temper with your incompetent minions every few decades has a damaging cumulative effect on your reputation. It is possible to compensate by generously rewarding followers, but it is a difficult task for a race legendary for its greed.
