LEB Discussion Thread '09

Well I'm doing my part to boost the leader numbers! No druids? I might have to make one when I can make a second character.

Or maybe a kobold. I've been wanting to play one of those and I have a few combo's I've been wanting to try out.

Or depending how long it is, there might be something from PHB 3 and/or dragon that catches my fancy. If hybrids stay the same as in dragon, that may be an option.

So many choices...

I was glad to see this census. Even though I'm a long way away from a 2nd character I've got an excellent idea in mind for a Changeling Wizard. Even though there's already two wizards, I don't see controller number spiking in the near future.

If anyone's considering a druid I encourage you to think about an urban swarm druid. I have a feeling a creative mind could have some real fun with that in Eberron.

I did just make a human invoker for my second, but let me play around w/ a halfling a bit to see what I come up with...

Well, I appologize about making another striker, but hey, I've got a leader on L4W and going to make a controller there, so I think I'm allowed. I'll make a defender for my 2nd here.

Speaking for myself, I don't mind that there's more strikers. As long as there's enough of the others. In 4th, and slightly more so in PbP, I like having the extra striker.

Personally, my preferred party set-up is 2 defenders, 2 strikers, and 1 leader. That's just me though, especially at lower levels. I find controllers hits their stride a bit further along their career than strikers and defenders do. Also, controllers are much harder to work with in PbP (at least from what I've heard) as they need to know a bit more exact the locations of enemies/allies than most of the other classes.

Just my two coppers.
