Question: My character is a Half-Elf, but the details of her background make a background trait-type thing from the Elven race more fitting.

To be more specific, my character is a Half-Elf who spent 12 years growing up in the Feywild, and so I see the 'Fey Ally' background trait a fitting background to use.

Am I permitted to take this background, and if not, can I simply skip having one rather than worry over it?

You could also simply use a more general background, such as "Forest" to describe your background with the feywild and then not have to worry about it fitting in perfectly.

I'm fine with it, there's also the Raised Among Another Race (or something). It's really no difference, you're pretty much either getting a non-class skill to become a class skill or a +2 bonus on a skill. How you get it is fine, heck even if you wanted your half-elf to take a goliath background, but it fit in your backstory that's fine by me. Fluff is something I try not to mess with (as long as you're not taking too many liberties with the setting, i.e. drow are fluffy and lovable)

Hm... maybe my second char should be the Drow exception to prove the rule, being the fluffiest, most lovable Drow ever... wait... I don't think I could accurately play a fluffy character... and I don't have access to the Drow info. Hm... curses, foiled again! ;):p:D

Thanks, as I said, was just clarifying on whether it would be allowed or not, because I'm paranoid/OCD like that.

Yeah no problem asking questions, that's why we're here. It is easier to tell someone up front something than have them build a PC and then after it is all done and they've wasted their time.

Does LEB share L4W's policy on multiple characters? That is, you can submit a second character after the first has gained a level?

If not, what is the policy(if there is one).

I'm one of those guys who has loads of ideas and not enough places to stick them, so I have to ask(even though I'm still finishing up my first character here!)
