Legacy of Death Part IX: The Ultimate Tomb

To avoid the prone penalties, Sim will stand up. These uncouth, undead, scum are starting to annoy him. He looks at the swarm; I will deal with you in a moment, as he adjusts his accoutrements. A little blood is one thing, but there is no need to get one’s robes filthy with Plutonian dirt (who knows what has died here). He looks around and appreciates the cat’s handiwork. He must remember himself to give the cat a treat. What do they like cheese, fish, wayward dwarves?
If he can in his dazed state, he will action point and stab the swarm with his batorian dagger (33 vs AC with the +3 for action point).

Forge calls out for his comrades to move north. Enough f'ing around with these zombies. Forge will move back a few squares to the edge of broken ice in order to see if there is anything else coming from any of these directions and to provide cover for the team to make a tactical movement into the mouth. He'll ready a charge action using his shield if anything follows his teammates and gets within 5 squares of him.

Buckthorn will draw his non-magical shortbow. He will name the zombie and the skeleton swarm as his quarry and fire using a standard ranged attack. Note, he will NOT fire if he has any reason at all to believe this will call forth the storm again against his allies :-) (36 to attack, 27 damage if hits).

If he somehow triggers the storm against himself, he would use acrobatics to try to avoid being hit (Acrobatics - 29).

He will also perform a nature check to try to discern how to disable the damnable storm. (Nature - 29)

Turns out Buckthorn is freakishly strong and can carry 170+lbs of gear, and did have the other bow on his sheet...as there are no rules for stringing a bow in 4e (or that could be his move action)...

You drop the zombie.

The cat just gives you a look.

Hmm, being slowed won’t get him very far and he will need to shift twice to avoid an OA. Sim considers teleporting and switching places with the genius strategist but Forge would likely start attacking and have storm blasts rain down up the cat. Sim tries to disrupt the storm blast using his arcane knowledge (arcane - 24). Drawing blank, Sim is sure that did not work so he shifts twice north.

"Does the short stout one run from battle often?" Allowyn throws a radiant orb behind the swarm, to catch both the swarm and the zombie. (swarm-28, zombie-33) I assume both are missed; 26 damage, 10 ongoing if they aren't. He then vaults on top of Leandre, and the cat moves up and claws at the zombie (35,28)

the short stout ones.

The orb actually destroys the zombie. The lion finally gets up and charges the swarm (barely) destroying it.

The great skull of ice awaits.
