"Legend Huge Packs"?

According to a news blurb on the front page, these go on sale in September for $19.99. Note that "Angelfire" is listed for July, so it seems unlikely that "Legends" is another full expansion.

Could WotC have changed their model for selling Huge minis? I know that despite GoL's success there were a huge number of complaints on how Huge Packs were sold and on the case distribution.

Maybe WotC is going to just selling Huges? Two or three (hopefully three) Huges in a Huge Pack, with maybe a set of 12?

Anyone have any thoughts?

Personally, I'd like them to make dragons be something other than rare. It is Dungeons & Dragons, afterall. Not, Treants & Tyrannosaurs...

I found it very irritating that getting some of the huge rare figures was even more difficult than acquiring smaller rare minis. And the sheer number of Nightwalkers, Fiendish T-Rexes, Cloud Giants and Treants one found in the packs was just silly...not that Ents are bad .

2 cloud giants
2 nigthwalkers/mares whatever
1 Eberron Warforged Titan thing

Couple of good giants though. I'd like to buy a few more sets but I'd probably have to go to WoTC headquarters and ram any additional fiendish t-rex's into the Presiden't of that company's netheregions. "Useful figure right? gotta have 'em all right?"

Hmmm... my GoL huges were:

1 Behir
3 Fiendish Tyrannosaurs
2 Fomorians
1 Cloud Giant
2 Treants

I think I came out ok, though those damn dinosaurs really suck compared to some of the things I coulda gotten. Well, I'll prolly still buy a couple more packs before all is said and done...

I get the impression that a lot of people who highly anticipated GoL feel they got burned after purchasing them. If WotC does the same thing again (lots of crappy "commons"), I think sales for huge minis will drop significantly.

Really, which is more rare: a Fiendish T-Rex or a Dragon (any dragon!)? Come on, give us what we want! I don't care if everybody has a huge red dragon, at least I'll be one of those people.

Funny. I don't have much money for minis, so I just bought the "packs of three boosters" for each line from FRP games. Giants of Legends only sold two to a pack.

I pulled a Fomorian and the Huge Gold Dragon.

Lucky me, I guess.

(I named the dragon Gorgoldand, after the adventure.)

Here's what I got out of my GoL packs:
3 Treants
2 Nightwalkers
2 Formorians
2 Fiendish T-Rex's
1 Cloud Giant
1 Gold Dragon
1 Red Dragon
1 Bulette

Not too bad, but I'll never really have a need for the Treants or T-Rexes. Even if they do look pretty good.

I think, considering the schedule, that its safe to assume that yes, their method of selling huges has changed. Here's to hoping I don't get 4 frickin' Nightwalkers.
