Legends of the Samurai: Escape from the Haunted Lands

I don't how either of those would break anything. The only possible problem I see would be adapting
the adventure where the players take their sea voyage and fight the Wako
but you could just skip that adventure, or use it for something else later.

Thanks again Chuck. A few more questions for you (hey, at least I'm keeping this thread at the top of the forum so more people can see your product announcement ;) )

[sblock]
1) Do you have a set age for Taru in mind, and does it come into play later? There is nothing in the adventure, although the description probably suggests late teens/early 20s.

2) Is there a particular location for the daimyo's lands that you have in mind, or can the GM place them anywhere?

3) Any hints on the neighbors and surrounding terrain of the daimyo's lands (I'm guessing this will be answered in the next adventure - I just don't want to contradict it if I end up starting the campaign before the next adventure is out. I plan on running a few "prequel" adventures before the start of the path, so this info would be handy to have).

1. Younger, around 10 or so. Haru is the mission and protecting him will be the PC's task for some time. If we was in his late teens, he'd be taking command, which would be troublesome for adventure purposes.

2. No, I specifically wanted to be vague about location and time period, and tried to make it so that it would anywhere, and almost any time.

3. Except for the enemy's territory being near-by, no. My assumption is that over the next few adventures the PCs will be trying to put as much distance between them and the enemy as possible.

Ah, excellent. I was planning on having him youngish (maybe 13, but 10 could also work) anyway, for exactly the reason you say. Although being a level 3 samurai at age 10 is impressive!

Ok, I think that's it for the moment. Now hurry up and get the rest of the adventures out ;)

Cheers,
Jason

I'm afraid not.

The author, Uri Kurlianchik has had an attack of life, and I'd really like to give him the chance to continue the excellent work he started if possible.

Damn - and I just started my campaign last week too :(

Ah well, I'll be running a lot of prequel adventures before starting the adventure path (which I'll probably modify extensively anyway), so hopefully he'll be able to resolve things before I need to know what's supposed to happen next :)

This sounds like it is more story heavy than stat heavy, is it? The reason I ask is I use Legend of the 5 Rings D10 3E for my Japanese roleplaying. If this is being written very story heavy it will still be worth getting for me.

I would call it story-heavy yes.

There's some assorted statblocks, but the adventure contains a lot of interesting information based on Japanese folklore and mythology as well.

It was very nicely done.

Good to hear! I'll pick this up after Nov. first.
