Legions of Hell - Anyone using it?

What level was the Psychic Warrior? Can you give a brief description of the encounters? Particularly with the Striga, I'm curious to know the setup and how it played out.

BTW, I feel sorry for him. You definitely don't want to be on Hadriel's bad side.

LOL. Got that right. Hadriel is no joke.
He is an 8th level PW. The fight with the Chamagon went very fast and wasn't a serious threat(the pw is a spiked chain -reach freak) and took 2 rounds to take out. The Chamagon was waiting for the PW to enter the portal to hell(following a psion he is tracking down across the plains hehe) and even got the drop on him!
The fight with the Striga was when he was travelling the wastes of the 1st level of hell and came upon a slave train. He ended up jumping one of the slave-carts when it broke down and set upon the striga guarding it(it contained some slaves Hadriel has interest in....). The fight almost took him out!! The combination of the Striga's poison, flight, and invisibility took him to the edge. However the good deed served him well. One fo the slaves was a fiendish sorcerer who is now acting as his guide. He doesn't really trust the sorc, but then thats a good thing in Hell........don't trust anyone!

Well War, whatcha want from me then? ;) A pat on the back for pushing it back up? ;) Or would like to hear how I planned on converted (slightly) the Queen of Witches into a force for helping in restoring Mormo to a semblance of corporeality? ;)

Really? That's really surprising. I would think that the Chamagon's Anti-Magic shell, combined with it's AC of 24 (!), would make it a serious threat. Not to mention it's accurate and powerful wing attacks. Heck, with no magic boosts whatsoever, I can't see the psiwarrior getting more than 1 hit per round on the fiend. To steal a cliche, I guess "that's why they play the game."

This, also, surprises me. Just looking at their stats, I find it hard to imagine Striga being very effective in a role other than informer/spy. Let me guess: they used Invisibility (+ Move Silently) to circumvent the psiwarrior's reach and get close, and then surrounded him and went to town with their poison claws? They are pretty frail (low AC/HP), so I can't imagine that they would last very long once they became visible. How exactly did you use the Striga in combat?

Also, the character I play is a ranger/barbarian/prestige class who has a fortitude save of +16 at 11th level, so I tend to forget that poison can be effective ;). I guess when you have to make enough DC 14 saves, you start to fail a few, right?

Magic is different in my campaigns, but he didn't use any powers against the Chamagon. Just whacked it a lot!
The PW in my campaign has a 16 str and is specialized in that Spiked Chain. He attacks as +11/+6 and does 2D4 + 7(+4 Str, +2 wpn spec, +1 psionic weapon). He also has off-the wall feat, mental leap (sp?), and has psionic weapon for an extra D4 if he spends the power points. He also has couple of the psionic powers that give him attack and AC bonus. He used the hit and move tactics so neither of them got more than 1 attack and he got a couple of AOO's. His total bonuses are +13/+8 i believe, with the chain doing 2D4 +7 +1d4 with psi weapon. His AC is something like 20 with all his stuff. The AC is the only thing that saved him against the Striga, really.

As for the Striga, 2 of them snuck him at first, while the first one was distracting him. And the poison was messing him up. Up to 6 poison saves in a round can hurt you bad. :p
Especially when your a fighter and keep losing strength. heh. The flying messed him up the most, though!! That threw a wrench in his usual tactics. :)

Well it makes sense that Antaia would want to work against the gods in order to make room for her cult. releasing/ressurecting one of the titans wouldn't be a terrible way to go about it. If she succeeds in bringing back Mormo, that would keep the gods busy so she can get a strangle hold on the land. What are the Daughters of the Moon doing about it?? Help out the pc's?

Actually I decided to make the Daughters of the Moon a lycanthropic cult of Belsameth and Chardun dedicated to the wild AND an orderly controlled environ for their gods. They openly oppose ALL titanspawn, but especially any of Mormo's children. So they might welcome the help of the PCs...but don't expect them to be opened minded to being NICE to the PCs. :)

I'm just a player. i don't dm a group but, I looked through that book and man! I was excited. Looking at all the great artwork and all the demons I am hopeful that my dm will pick it up to incorperate in to the world and current campaign. The campaign is looking to be a Law/Chaos war between the gods. Recently a god was killed and there is a vacancy. The two groups are arguing over who should fill the position. A god of law or chaos. Meanwhile demons are "spying" a portal that the now dead god hadbeen gaurding. In my dms world aprox 10,000 years ago there was a demon war where 1000s of them broke loose on the prime and caused destuction. So it looks like they may have another chance at it again. If he uses it I think it would really make things spectacular. The MM is good and all but this puts a speacialized face on things. No need to generate the individual demons.
