Leif's The Hall of the Rainbow Mage, IC (A) [D&D 3.5]

Whin looks around, noting that the blade had dissapeared - He frowned slightly, but shrugged and returned to following the group. Apparently the blade had gotten better at hiding than the last time they'd travelled together.

Exploring Londar's Tower

(Preliminary OOC note: One feature that I forgot to mention before is that the door to the north out of this room at the east end of the ground floor of Londar's mansion is marked with bloody handprints, but the blood is dried and flaking. Sorry for the omission!)

The east end of the mansion is the tower portion of Londar's dwelling. The room is now a complete wreck: plush cushions that once lined the many chairs and sofas are slashed and shredded. Several small tables in the room have been broken and destroyed as well. A wide stairway climbs along the outer edge of the tower, the northern staircase going up, and the southern one going down. A landing marks each level, with a door blocking further progress. Soot marks along the walls surrounding the 2nd floor landing hint of a recent fire. The door leading to the second floor of Londar's tower is a thick, sturdy door that is painted red and is secured by a strange-looking, but good quality lock.

The searches that I have been given rolls for do not reveal anything more to you, sorry. (On the other hand, I'll reward Sam's 27 Spot check by saying that the door to the second floor of the tower gives Sam a somewhat uneasy feeling.)

Surprisingly, the stained glass windows in this room are intact. As soon as Sam opens the door, he sees this, and he also sees two wooden constructs move as soon as the door is opened and begin to move toward the door.

"What kind of self-respecting wizard uses wooden constructs?" asks Vaidun from the rear of the group, peering past his companions.

Laz looks back through the house with a smirk and shouts..

GOMLAR.... TO ME... NOW!" the wizard yells as he begins casting....

[sblock=Initiative:]1d20+3=10(Laz), 1d20-1=0(Gomlar)[/sblock]

[sblock=Actions:]On Laz's turn he will cast Mirror Image for 1d4+4=6 Images of himself.

On Gomlars initiative he will run without regard for the intricates of the home and through the shortest direct route to Laz as instructed... if this means though walls so be it..... heh[/sblock]

"Wooden?" Whin's voice is incredulous as he cranes his neck around the door from his position to get a better look. "Interesting, though I doubt the golem will be needed for such a paltry task." Razor cheers with delight as Whin draws it.

Sam's initiative = 7

"Why is it always constructs? Let's get this over with!"

When Sam can act, he'll withdraw out of the way to let his companions deal with the unpleasantness, and caste haste on the party.
