Pathfinder 1E Leif's Whirtlestaff's Wizards' Academy, Reprise [Pfdr] [IC 04]

The Vault of Larin Karr

Kerlan finds no traps in his search. Neither does Capizzio, but he does find an area of false fronted books in the southern portion of the third bookcase up the western wall.

Tylara finds the magical emanations from the everburning torches [candles] and she also notes a pulsation of magical energy that is leaking around the false volumes Capizzio has spotted.

Now that he knows the area is safe, Kerlan browses through the books as Cap investigates his discovery.

Vault of Larin Karr -- Library

As Kerlan scans down the spines of the books nearest him, he sees that most are in unfamiliar languages, but he does note that a number of them are penned in the Draconic tongue. Most of these that he can see deal with the theory of magic, planes, and that sort of thing.

OOC: In everyone's next post, please list the languages that your character can read? This will be a great help.

Manny reads Common, Draconic, Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Halfling, Orc, Sylvan, Terran, and Undercommon. He also knows Drow Sign Language, but of course doesn't read it.

"There is something magical behind those false books you have spotted," observes Tylara. She too is curious about the titles that might be here.

OOC: Tylara reads Elven, Common, Slyvanoptera, Draconic, Sylvan, Gnome, Undercommon and Drow.

Cappizzio concentrates on the magical emminations to ascertain what is revealed.

The Vault of Larin Karr

OOC: My ruling is that neither Capizzio nor anyone else can concentrate on a 'glow' revealed by magic detection and ascertain any useful knowledge beyond a 'color' or other identifying property, if any, possibly related to school of magic, if applicable, and a very general sense as to strength.

IC: [sblock=Capizzio] In this case, Capizzio does not get a definite sense of power as it were, it's more a sense of potentiality, rather similar to the potential energy stored in a compressed spring. And the more Capizzio concentrates on it, the more vague and nebulous it becomes. If he doesn't really pay attention to it, it waxes a very slight bit stronger, but as soon as he tries to pinpoint its location or any other specific attribute, it evades him and becomes very nebulous, and he can't quite put his finger on it.

"Hmmm. I wonder if this radiation is even real? hey, fellow scholars. Is there a spell that specifically detects spells of the illusion school? This magical radiation seems, .. .. .. hinky."
