Oh, I know it's not 3E, but I just had to post here because I am pretty excited about the prospect

The URL for details is:

www.dreams-interactive.com

Maybe I can talk the guys into holding a con in Milwaukee, too :D

Gary

Nice looking project. I look forward to playing it. With you being involved im sure it will be a exciting and entertaining game.

Just received word this AM that Dreams-Interactive is indeed looking for MAc and Lunux programmers so as to enable play of the LA MMPO RPG by both systems.

I have heard from several people about the difficulty of finding the LA game line in Germany. It is available on a limited basis in England and France, but for some reason we've not been able to get a German (or Italian) distributor:(

That's what comnes from having to compete with a 500# gorilla called 3E

Congratulations! Tell us, Gary, how deep is your involvement in the game... I mean, what are you doing? Did you just hand them a Lejendary Adventures rulebook, or are you following the development closely to make sure they stay faithful to your work?

Also... the one big trouble of MMORPGS are the people playing them. Player killers, first of all, but not only. Are there any... countermeasures against those kind of players?

Thank'ee Kindly, Sir:)

I have been working closely with DI for about a month or so, and that will continue. Funny you should mention it, but abuses are a major concern that we are working to address. Note that the game will have laws, and this impacts the payer via the Avatar. Of course, to be fair, a Domain in the game will be mutable, so if a bunch get together and decide to have a lawless state, that too will be accommodated. The LA rules will be followed to the letter....where it makes sense for a MMPO version. Where they don't work well, DI and I will hammer out something that is like the particular aspect, but that works in the new medium and addresses problem areas.

We are a long way from being finished with these basics. The first full demo will be at least three months in the future.

Cherio,
Gary

Thanks, and keep your fingers crossed that the project moved from initial development and demo stage into full online lay--rapidly and with the funding needed to make it really tops in all respects.

I am indeed in constant communication with the development team and the graphic end too. The deal includes my creative oversight. Of course we can't adhere to "the book" slavishly. The online environment is different than the face-to-face game run by a watchful Lejend Master

Read the full text of the promo I wrote up with the assistance of DI, and you'll see one of the ways that we intend to manage player-killer Avatars ;)

Ciao,
Gary

I just wanted to drop a line and say congratulations also, Gary!

I also wanted to say "darn you" for possibly pulling me back into the massive crack addiction that is MMRPG's... :D

Should this "go gold," will players get a chance to adventure in a party with the Original Grognard, himself?

Keep letting us know here when it's ready for beta testers and full production...

A relatively quiet Saturday AM here as I await the arrival of more of the SLAYER'S GUIDE to DRAGONS to hit the inbox. As a member of B.A.D.D. I think you'll like what we're doing in that book, BTW. Powering up those drakes and adding some new and very nasty members of the species too :D

There's a way to go yet before you can properly curse me for adding another gaming addiction to your list. I look at in the reverse--at last a reason to NOT get online to play. Work, you know, making sure the LA MMPOROG runs properly and all that.

Likely I'll be able to take some time to get online with a group and do some adventuring... Or should I give myself a title, sit on a throne, and dispatch groups here and there? Hmmm... Nah, not my bag

Thanks for the good wishes:)

When I was first contacted, one of the very things that was covered was the matter of the f-t-f rules for the paper game and the online version. So I have been fully involved from day one. Of course, part of my creative direction is to assist in development of rules and mechanics not in the paper version but needed for the online one. Differing media mean some changes are absolutely necessary.

Go and read the full press release, and you'll see how part of that probles is going to be handled. I wish I'd have tought of it, but DI came up with the idea...

Cherio,
Gary
