D&D General Let He Who Is Without Sin Cast the First Magic Missile: Why Gygax Still Matters to Me

Stats are no longer an attempt to simulate a real life person. Modern design has become mostly SAD to represent how a character defends themself and commits to offense and skills. For example, every fighter pumps A&B stat while dumping the rest, and every Wizard pumps X&Y, while dumping the rest. There remains a little variance with some classes as folks will lament the MAD requirements their SAD neighbors dont have.

With that out of the way, representing gender and racial stats has become obsolete.

We are way too uptight these days on all sides of issues.

Mod Note:
That's very convenient - anyone who disagrees with you is dismissible as "uptight".

Please remember that this site has an inclusivity policy, and that by posting you agree to adhere to it. Then be better at doing so. Thanks.

Well if your RPG is Olympic weightlifting the RPG maybe. Terrible RPG though.

Toast the RPG would be better. If you apply spread to one side disadvantage on balance checks.
